What is the difference between indecent assault and sexual assault - contact? And wouldntthe statutes of limitations apply? Any legal eagles in the house?

And how come, other than an occassional frisky school teacher, you never hear much about women preying on the young? It's always some sinister dude (or preacher) in a raincoat? My guess is that sexual abuse is far more prevalent...

Taking pictures of someone under 18 is illegal in Canada. Having sex with someone under 18 is not.

There is No statute of limitations on any form of sex related crime in Canada.

Just a guess? I know I wouldn't say boo if I was raped. There is a stigma to admitting to being raped, and it increases for male victims. I agree, women are more than likely doing it too.

According to the article, the age of consent is 14 in Canada... So there's no limitation on what those kids can do, but if someone is older than 18, there is?

The thing is, while the law recognizes 14 as an appropriate age for someone to have the choice to copulate (with somebody else of any age),

Damn - I was born in the wrong country :reallymad:

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
