Selection of beauty products

TL;DR: Amazon has launched a TikTok store with deals on viral and best-selling beauty products until March 7.

If you're a dedicated follower of beauty videos on TikTok, you've probably come across the hashtag #tiktokmademebuy. A viral video can cause interest in a particular product to skyrocket overnight, with stocks quickly selling out.

Amazon has seen this buzz and launched a TikTok store with deals on all these viral and best-selling beauty products.

TikTok Made Me Buy It is an online beauty event on Amazon that runs until March 7. You can find products such as Garnier Tissue Masks, L’Oreal Paris Wonder Water, and Maybelline Curl Bounce Mascara, with many of the UK's leading brands in the mix. There are literally hundreds of deals to consider, so this could be your best opportunity to stock up and save on TikTok favourites.

Bruh, Amazon is making money out of everything they can. There’s nothing bad about that, but still, it makes me sick.
Also, I think this will encourage brands to use TikTok influences to advertise their production. This will lead to the market being flooded with bad and low-quality products that otherwise would not have gained any attention. Money decides where you will spend your money.
At the same time, of course, this platform can be good for small brands or local businesses with more possibilities to promote their products. For example, my good friend has just graduated from a nail technology program on nwcollege.edu and is looking for new customers. I advised her to use TikTok more extensively, and we will see whether it will help.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
