Who watches and why....

I have seen all seasons 1-6 online plus the new episodes at verious sites on the web for free and this was a good series but I would never pay hbo to have watched itn no way!! The Mafia has their own ways and their own codes for living and I agree wit some of it...

It wasn't as graphic or disturbing as Pesci's character's brother in Casino.

I've seen everything up to and including the first show of this season. BTW, what's HBO? ;)

Actually, her running it through Bobby seems pretty possible.

I think Tony and Chris are dead and A.J. hasn't been set-up well enough to take over.

I DEMAND all those hours of my life back..

Last season with Vito was just so disturbing...

as you must know by now WF, AFAIC 'disturbing' in fiction is good, lol.

Yes, I think Bobby will go to jail for that murder..DNA...blah blah

The victim got a handful of Bobbie's shirt. And also, Bobby beat the crap out of Tony at the lake house. I'm not sure that's over yet.

And I've always kind of liked Paulie.

my 2p: someone on some other site, analysed the themesong (originally written about a British woman who killed her husband for years of him abusing her) and predicted that as the original song goes, Carmella or Janice would end up running the entire thing. nb: i laughed my ass off reading his analysis, it was very lengthy and i just wondered about the writer, the time he spent 'analysing' and the 'thought' he put into it.

about Paulie, i always thought he was a petty, vengeful spiteful thug, totally not to be trusted. but what do i know?

btw, is there anyone else here who considers this show a comedy as i do? it took about two viewings of the first season for me to realise it but all the hints are there in (i believe) the pilot, especially w/some of the music behind the action.

  • 4 weeks later...

Episode 20 Blue Comet was a real blood bath and all I can say is I was NOT expecting this one!! I still stick to in the end, Janice will run it all, AJ. I thought might one day but he is a head case way worse than Tony is and would be worthless to The Family....

I think Paulie has turned on the family. He was responsible for setting up the hit on Phil. How did those guys wind up at the wrong house anyway? Was it a coincidence that it was a lookalike? Remember, he tried to defect to the NY family before. Plus they specifically excluded him form their hit list.

Maybe Tony will survive and go into the witness protection program. His crew is all gone, and how else could he get back at Phil. Plus he has that letter in his file for turning in the Arabs.

Problem is, this is all too obvious, I think they have some big twists up their sleeve. I like the idea of Janice taking over.

I can't believe they are going to tie this up in just one more episode.

The series should keep going because I don't think they really can rap it all up with their 2 hour finale. A spin off would be depressing and weak!! imo.. :(

Regardless where they go with that finale they are going to leave people fuming.

I'm pretty pissed over the one death from this episode. He was one of the best parts of the show.

Fucking Paulie.

No, I blame Paulie. I think he's a rat too. To be fair the person I'm referring to isn't confirmed dead but I didn't want to say too much for the people that'll still see it.

You know, I think for the first time that Tony might live through all of this. The way he looked at Junior's newspaper when he came into the house gave me a sort of "this is foreshadowing of how Tony's future looks". A sad little man alone.

I wonder if they'll put off the finale for a couple weeks to build anticipation.

Sopranos really put HBO on the map.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
