It was in last year's Animal Crossing: New Horizons that we were introduced (or reintroduced) to Franklin, the Turkey, who is keen for you to be aware of the fact that there are other things you could eat today besides turkey. ACNH items's similar to the Chick-fil-A cow, but without the hooves and the homophobia associated with buy ACNH art.

Franklin would need various ingredients from around the island, such as manilla clams and sea bass, which you would have to bring him in order for him to prepare food for the Thanksgiving celebration. In the time since he last left us, we've learned how to grow crops, cook from scratch, and prepare our own meals. Is this reflected in the second Turkey Day episode of New Horizons, as well? Thank goodness, yes! free ACNH NMT will appear that way at first, but  will not be.

A few of the first changes to this year's event include the addition of carrot for the third dish, which means you'd better start farming right away unless you're lucky enough to be on Kapp'n's Island Tour or have a friend who has carrots, otherwise you'll be in for a rough time. I had no problems because, by chance, I started my farm at an early age.

Once you've finished with the main four dishes, Frankling provides you with four recipes so that you can recreate these four dishes in your own kitchen. Franklin then discusses how he might improve them and invites you to submit any additional suggestions you may have. He doesn't say what they are, but he speculates that some of your villagers might be aware of what they are. Unfortunately, the majority of your villagers are all staring at the plates on the table instead of the action on the field.

As a result, the only thing that remains is a visit to the villagers who have remained at home. I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but since they added cooking, when you visit villagers, they can now be cooking at the same time they're making DIY recipes, just as they can at other times when they're making DIY recipes.

All of your villagers who stayed at home will be preparing meals, and they will all be requesting a fish. Three horse mackerels and a yellow perch were required in my case in order to complete all four recipes successfully. After you've handed them their chosen fish, they'll say something along the lines of, "you know what really makes a crab dish good?"A Dungeness crab," says the narrator. You get to see your villagers in a more relaxed setting than the main missions, and if you thought Coco was adorable when she was just nuking TV dinners, you haven't seen her in action yet when she gets her cook on.

Once you've completed the final four missions, you'll have completed the entire event. There was no big celebration or anything like that. However, the items you receive are rich in detail and personality, and while I'm not a big fan of this particular type of year, I can't ignore the fact that the prizes themselves are brimming with character. Here's a group of them together to give you an idea of the variety of prizes available.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
