When Nintendo released Animal Crossing: New Horizons for its Switch console in March last year, it probably didn't expect the game to break sales records. Certainly, the coronavirus pandemic, which closed almost everyone in their homes in the world, also "contributed" to higher sales. And so sales rose to tens of millions of units sold.

On Friday, October 15, Nintendo announced big news for its Animal Crossing game on its Youtube channel. It should be noted that after more than a year and a half, the title itself deserved some update. Over time, he could stop having fun. And so we, the fans, did see. Nintendo announced a major update to version 2.0, as well as a new DLC extension for the game called Happy Home Paradise. Updates will be free and extensions will be charged (€ 24.99 = ± 655, -). Both will be released on November 5. Any pre-order for expansion will start on October 29.

WHAT Awaits US IN THE FREE UPDATE TO VERSION 2.0?

As already mentioned, the update will be free and it is a really big update.

One of the components are new or returning characters. We come across Brewster, who took over The Roost Café. He will sell you coffee for 200 bells. Then there are others: Tortimer, Harriet, Reese and Cyrus. And then there are the special characters: the monkey Niko or the walrus Wardell.

Another part of the update is the expansion of Harv Island. He will be even more useful. New recipes will be added, as well as new fruits for growing. These include tomatoes, wheat, sugar cane and more.

KAPP'N ISLAND

Kapp'n returns from an older version of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which you could still play on the Nintendo 3DS. There he took you as a ferryman to Tortimer's Island and this time he will take you to another place for a change. Take a ride with it and you will get access to new islands, where the weather, time of day or season may be completely different than on your main island. So any catching of beetles and fish will be much more accessible at any time. New species of flora, such as vines, will also appear. This will allow you to climb the cliffs as well as the ladder.

THE ROOST

A new and improved cafe that will open in the museum. And its staff will be the already mentioned new addition in the form of the pigeon barista Brewster. He has his own motto: "Drink it hot or give it up." You will be able to invite your friends to the café.

Not only new furniture, but also the ability to customize previously uneditable things through the services of Reese and Cyrus on the island. We will also see new types of fences. There will be exactly nine species and there will be the possibility to adapt them.

As part of the update, we will see 11 new hairstyles and 11 new reactions. KK Slider will also have new products! It will offer us 12 new songs. For example, Chillwave, Bashment, Brake, Hip Hop and others.

The camera mode will also be changed. Specifically, the ability to switch to a first-person view or use a tripod.

A ovelty will be active stretching with your friends online. With the help of Joy-cones, which is basically an easier form than when, for example, you train with the help of the Ring Fit aid.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
