You've probably heard that taking small walks around the office (slash your home) throughout the day can help combat sedentary fatigue. The idea behind a standing desk is similar: Switching it up for some of the workday could offer the crumb of energy or mental stimulation that you need to get stuff done. Some may find that occasional standing could relieve neck or back pain, too.

You're not required to ditch your current furniture. This 31-inch Flexispot converter sits on your existing desk and uses an X-lift mechanism to rise up to a comfortable height for you. The two-tier design offers space for a laptop, monitor, mouse, and other accessories, plus a (removable) keyboard tray if you need it.

When it's time to sit, the Flexispot folds flat and can be tucked into a corner or under a bed.

  • 1 year later...

My colleague Miles always complains that he gets tired of sitting down to work. Therefore, he often takes breaks. Christmas is coming, so I think I have found the perfect gift for him. But for me standing and high desks are uncomfortable because I have back problems. I am much more comfortable working sitting in my ergonomic chair. I bought a quality chair at https://eurekaergonomic.com/ergonomic-office-desk-chairs/ to avoid back pain while working. So if I use your desk converter, I'm afraid my back will start hurting again.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
