memory problem

I have a friend that plays online games, and has a problem we can't figure out. When she tries to open the game she gets a message that says "IEexplore.exe application error instruction 0X0000001C reference memory 0X7C901010"

Does anyone know why?

But since this your friend's problem, I have breathed a sigh of relief. Memory allocated by Internet Explorer is being overwritten by something else, or it could be IE corrupting it's own memory space

That error is quite often a result of adding new hardware to a system. Has she added anything new?

Write a full description of what the problem is and what you have done to date, and I will post it at AskMetafilter...those people are pretty sharp. Or join (it costs 5 bucks)--more than worth it.

Haven't really done a lot. Updated Windows. Installed sp2. Installed IE7. Reinstalled Shockwave, Flash and Java. Also we get booted from the Java site as well as the game site. We can still access the interenet in general though.

And the fucking thing still doesn't work!!

This problem only happens with online web games. Downloaded games are fine. Web surfing works too.

But the online gaming sites boot us out as they're loading. Completely shuts down trhe browser. Both IE and Firefox.

Java was corrupt. Reinstalled it and problem solved!!
