Still loving this track despite being overplayed on the radio.

Big bang, where we going?

What we doing this night?

Feeling drunk already,

Maybe drink got spiked

But, more like the other like

that im just a lightweight

but i dont care man

I been drunk forever, I’m sedated

Hatred, I’m sedated, pages, I’m sedated

Worthwhile stages, cages, and all of my rage

This is a good time

To start dancing to this song man

A good one DJ

Play the record on man

So where be Joey? Get us a drink a dimp o'whisky

I look at the lady she be shady, but we raving

What ya' doing? Where you going to there after?

She says, "Get the fuck out man,

You seem to be so plastered!"

Well we be all the night

Kicking it, staring at girls alight

Well its all good man, what goes on, to think

You can't walking it drunk down the Strand

An' talk about how we missed the whole club queue

Who the fuck are you?

It's heavy, it's on my mind

Cos' you say that you feel just fine

He's racking and stacking them lines

Say calm down dearest

It's heavy, it's on my mind

You say that you feel just fine

He's racking and stacking your lines

Say calm down dearest

Remember shooting shit down the old alleyways

Talking tragedy and music like old Holiday

I remember what we doing then

I don't remember that

It's the past it's the future

I don't know how to carry on

Through the rights and wrongs

Kick it like we know the songs

Already we thought we rock steady

Down and on the dancefloor

An' I don't get no fights

When I get angry drunk

Sit down in the corner and

Sulk my fucking socks off

So who the fuck are we? Just the boys in the city

It’s all been done before and we’ll do it again so

See you later you alligators

We’ll be back I’m sure next week and sit in the bar you know

So bye, bye, bye we'll try never to die

We are so young we don’t understand if we cannot fly

It's heavy, it's on my mind

Cos' you say that you feel just fine

He's racking and stacking them lines

Say calm down dearest

It's heavy, it's on my mind

You say that you feel just fine

He's racking and stacking them lines

Say calm down dearest

It's heavy, it's on my mind

You say that you feel just fine

He's racking and stacking them lines

Say calm down dearest

Very catchy - thanx. He hasnt created a buzz stateside yet...

Here's his writeup from Wikipedia - sounds impressive:

Jamie Treays is a 21-year-old English singer/songwriter from Wimbledon, South London. He is currently signed to Virgin Records but released his Betty and The Selfish Sons EP on his own Pacemaker Records label. January 2007 is expected to see the official release of Jamie T's debut album Panic Prevention. Jamie attended Reed's School in Cobham when he was younger and used to suffer from panic attacks [1], hence the album name. He has been tipped to be "the next big thing" by the NME [citation needed] and has often been compared to the likes of Bob Dylan and Mike Skinner (The Streets) [citation needed]. Canvas Magazine have described him as "like the bastard lovechild of Billy Bragg and Mike Skinner doing his best Joe Strummer impression"

Now the hip-hop fad has finally passed, there is some good music about. From the UK chart at the moment:

The View - Same Jeans, from Dundee, Scotland

The Automatic - Monster

Four piece indie-rock band based in Cardiff, Wales.

Beirut-born, but now based in London, this is Mika with Grace Kelly. You'll be excused for thinking it is Freddie Mercary. BPI label signed artist (Island) :(

English band The Ordinary Boys. Quite chilled rock.

Another English group who only let themselves down with their BPI record label (Polydor).

Londoner Just Jack - Starz in Their Eyes. Again, BPI Label (Mercury), but good all the same. I think he has already broken into America.

Well that is enough for now

Here's another cut - 'Sheila'. MI, you should move it to the downloads section so it gets picked up by el.bows for more traffic

I must admit that I didn't know that was by the same guy. He has a lot of Mike Skinner (The Streets) about him, but I think more people internationally can get along with his music. Not sure than Skinner has sold a single record outside his domestic market?!

I was confused about where to put this. We have a lot of music forums!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
