Since I made it I have brought nothing but shame to

You seem to have the same issue Ricky9 had with his writing - it's nicely written, but a one note theme. You need a break in which you confront the issue and are able to move on. People tend to identify with songs that are emotional - but its up to you to help guide them to a better place
