*snigger* they left off the absolutely worst tune that the band ever did: 'how can i protect you' and for some fucked reason, Alabama 3 did it w/Aslan (it's on the 'outlaw' album).

we were all puking our guts out and the telephone calls and mails were flying all over the UK and the States and EU, along the lines of WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING?

personal note: see? i /do/ have complaints about my very fave band ever...just not very often.

:( I love that song

'Cause it's a wussie song.

I like it okay. Have you heard the original by Scott English? He co-wrote it in 1966 I think and got some airplay with it in 1972. It made it into the top 100 barely and never got close to the top 40 charts 4sure. His version was titled Brandy but Manilow changed the title to Mandy to avoid confusion with the song Brandy by Looking Glass.

I also liked 101, 89, 85, 78, 77, 70, 65, 62, 41 (although I prefer Fire & Rain), 26 & 17.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
