Hey Beatking members!

We are now moderating the News Section. We do this to get better news and give it a more professional look. This will also protect BeatKing from any trouble in the future for news post that could get us shut down etc. We promise your news story will most likely make it to the frontpage. It will be there very fast aswell. But we do now hold the right to edit, delete, or anything we want to do to your news post. Dont worry nothing has really changed, your post just isnt gonna make it on the frontpage instantly anymore. So please keep posting your news and have fun at beatking!

However, you can continue to create threads and polls for the specific forums--this rule just applies to the news on the front page--which will mostly likely be posted anyway. We just want to ensure nothing bad is posted there...

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
