the sounds

[Sound Advice]

Came accross this group called the sounds - great band - but my problem is how to classify the music... is it rock / indie / pop ?... the beats have a mixed electronic sometimes with almost an 80's feel and even a fall out boy remix i heard that verges on hip hop ? it loses me quite how to describe them. With all these apparent influences can you pigeonhole such a group into a single genre ? what would you call it ? for examples check a track called tony the beat on their myspace page www.myspace.com/thesounds this may help demostrate my point. What do u rekon ? how would you sum them up ?

If it leans more hip hop, call it hip hop - if it leans more electronica call it electronica - or fusion, maybe

don't get me started on genre--the main reason Alabama 3 can't get airplay, cause they can't be categorised.

i usually just call rock music that i can't define "indie" that usually works

this seems like spam to me, but the sound have been around for awhile, and I'd definitely call them pop/rock.
