You can always find the best tunes on Thrive. The latest example being Niiko x SWAE’s new single “Can’t Feel My Face.” The L.A. based duo return to a deeper, more club oriented sound than on their previous tracks this year. “Can’t Feel My Face” is a filthy bass house heater that will have you dancing and making that stank-face in your living room.

The track opens up with some dark synths and percussion in the background along with some light trap drums. The robotic male vocal refrain goes “Can’t feel my face, my mind, my soul, my place.” Once you start hearing the sirens in the buildup, you know the drop is going to hit you hard. Sure enough, we get some fat bass synths over the 4/4 beat and as I alluded to, it’s filthy. Here’s what Niiko x SWAE had to say about “Can’t Feel My Face.”

“Takes you back to that feeling of being in your favorite venue and losing yourself in the music, especially when the bass smacks you in the face. We made this track over quarantine and couldn’t help but reminisce over our past live shows and how eager we are to start playing tracks like this again.”

Check out the latest from Niiko x SWAE, “Can’t Feel My Face”, out now on Thrive.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
