I'm guessing there is more to the story than a 17yr old being sent away for 2 years for one sale. Perhaps he has been dealing loads and that one sale was just extra evidence to all the surveilence footage showing him selling to kids and adults - and not just between his mates.

Nope. Storeowners complained that kids are loitering in the parking lot. Kid takes his bike and goes to meet friends in said lot. A guy comes up--kid thinks guy wants to go smoke a bowl. Guy offers 20 bucks for what kid has left in his baggie. Cops move in. Kid was a fall guy for an overzealous prosecutor. The kid had zero offenses in his life--he was just a normal kid who like to smoke pot once in awhile
