Well, the weather here in LA has finally simmered down - it's quite pleasant now. How is everyone else doing and does anyone have anything exciting going for the weekend? I have some friends who are taking me to dinner, but otherwisie I just plan to lounge around :)

Wife and I are going to see Robin Williams' new movie, The Night Listener tomorrow. After the movie she goes to a swim party for aging chicks and I go home to BBQ. On Monday night I have a date with my 7 year old granddaughter to take her to a minor league baseball game (she won a free ticket...I get to buy mine). Amazing how much a 7 year old can eat at a ballgame....considering the temperature is going to be about 94 degrees that day, ice cream sales should be brisk.

Get to sit around and do nothing today...might watch the Comets game (if it's on tv) tonight.

Saturday I am working Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers at the Pavilion.

Sunday I am working a Comets game.

Yesterday was four hours of Apples to Apples and a bottle of wine.

Today is.... offer support to my friends who are sad. Maybe take a nap.

Sunday.... haven't thought that far ahead.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
