for once not a bad list...... :)

27. The Searchers (1956) - John Wayne, a symbol of the male ego, dominance, and everything right with the Wild West, stands alone in a doorway, isolated by feelings and ideologies that simply won't be accepted anymore. Deconstruction of the cowboy myth began here and John Ford, haunted by his own racist past, gives the shot a haunting, sobering feel of loneliness and change. -CC

one of my fav john wayne movies...i remember that ending well...good stuff indeed......

Missed again. In "An Officer And A Gentleman" when Richard Gere picks up Debra Winger and carries her out of the paper mill, it puts a knot in my throat even still.

Here's a little anecdote for you. I used to hang out with David Keith a bit before he hit the bigtime with this movie - a lot of the same mannerisms he brought to that film, he used to do on the beach

One of the writers of Casablanca came to our class at Penn State--he and his brother never liked the screenplay they wrote :) before...and after it became a hit

I would add Woody Allen's Manhattan and Billy Wilder's Sunset Blvd to the list.

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
