Mueller Report Finds No Evidence Of Trump & Russia Conspiracy

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the Trump campaign has been a hot topic worldwide for the last two years. Democrats have been hoping that Mueller's investigation, which led to 2,800 subpoenas and nearly 500 search warrants, would be the nail in the coffin for Trump. Their hopes have been shot down. Although several of Trump's closest cronies have already been indicted and charged, Trump himself has been cleared. Mueller's report found no evidence of collusion between President Donald Trump's team and Russia. According to a letter by Attorney General William Barr sent to Congress summarizing the findings of the report, the Trump campaign did not collude with Russia to win the 2016 election. No further indictments were recommended. “The Special Counsel’s investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 US Presidential Election,” Barr wrote.

"The Special Counsel's investigation determined that there were two main Russian efforts to influence the 2016 election," Barr continued. "The first involved attempts by a Russian organization, the Internet Research Agency (IRA), to conduct disinformation and social media operations in the United States designed to sow social discord, eventually with the aim of interfering with the election. As noted above, the Special Counsel did not find that any U.S. person or Trump campaign official or associate conspired or knowingly coordinated with the IRA in its efforts, although the Special Counsel brought criminal charges against a number of Russian nationals and entities in connection with these activities." The public has already known that Russia did interfere with the elections, or at least influenced the minds of Americans with targeted social media ads and memes.

"The second element involved the Russian government's efforts to conduct computer hacking operations designed to gather and disseminate information to influence the election," Barr wrote. "The Special Counsel found that Russian government actors successfully hacked into computers and obtained emails from persons affiliated with the Clinton campaign and Democratic Party organizations, and publicly disseminated those materials through various intermediaries, including WikiLeaks." There have been charges placed against several Russian military officers, but once again, there was no evidence that Trump helped orchestrate these hacks. • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
