Dame Dash Apologizes To Jay-Z, Lyor Cohen, Jim Jones & More

As a legendary figure in the game, Dame Dash has made a fair number of enemies. Sadly, some of them were once friends and collaborators, like Jay-Z and Jim Jones. Given that Dame helped co-found Roc-A-Fella records, his fallout with the Jigga Man was one of hip-hop's great divides. One has to wonder what might have been should the pair have maintained a unified front. Now, in the wake of recently putting Lyor Cohen on blast, Dame has decided to let bygones be bygones. The mogul recently uploaded a video to his Instagram, which finds him apologizing to those he has previously slighted.

"I don't have no beef with anybody," says a straight-faced Dash. "Pause." After clarifying any potential misunderstandings, he continues to bury all manner of hatchets. "I'm moving past it. So Jay-Z if I've offended you, I apologize. Lyor Cohen if I offended you I apologize. Steve Stoute if I offended you I apologize. Just cause you don't have the same morals and principles, it's cool, I'm not angry no more." Of course, the slight jab could lead many to question the sincerity of Dash's apology, but the fact that he's actually going through with it speaks volumes.

A subsequent video finds Dash continuing his apology tour, this time extending the olive branch to Jim Jones and Kareem "Biggs" Burke. "I called Jim Jones today, and I miss him. As a brother. I love his family, " Dash reveals. "I want him to be happy. And Jay, you know, that friendship we had was cool man. I miss it...I'm sorry man, I wasn't myself for a minute." While it's difficult to imagine the Roc-A-Fella glory days ever reaching their heydey, a sit down of sorts would certainly bring a little bit of harmony to the game. Interestingly enough, Dash had little to say about longtime rival Funk Flex. Perhaps some fences are simply not meant to be mended.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
