De La Guarda

I just came back from this show-dancing-acrobatics event that is called De La Guarda. It's an amazing group of people from Argentina that offer a show that I think, noone else does in the world. I can't really explain how it is but was the most amazing show I have ever been to.

Reviews:

"As good as sex" THE GUARDIAN

"Physically audacious and emotionally exhilarating" THE OBSERVER

"Jump starts the audience emotions like an injection of adrenaline" NY TIMES

"Thrilling, sexually charged... The party of the year" TIME OUT - NEW YORK

"Life affirming, mind blowing, mega thrilling - a must see emotional rollercoaster" DAILY MIRROR

"De La Guarda: the hottest act at lift" GAZETTE

"Sex & Poetry in Motion" De La Guarda grafts the word of its rebellion on poetic acrobatics. What they do, is wonderfully imaginative, utterly mad and rather moving"

There is no central stage. The show takes place in a huge warehouse (old airport) and they come down from a big metal structure that is hanging above. They jump down, take people from audience and take them for a ride, dance in the air and play breath taking music and vocals. All live.

They play a lot with water and the what they do with lights is brilliant. Must see.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
