Blues and Jazz Reccomendations for new listener

I have a large variety of soul and rnb records. However i have only very little jazz and no blues at all. From my jazz "collection" i am the proud owner of Miles Davis' Kind Of Blue and John Coltrane's A Love Supreme. If any one can make just a couple of blues and jazz reccomendations, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

For jazz, try anything by Wes Montgomery (guitar) and Milt Jackson (vibes) as starters...in Blues you can't go wrong with B.B. King and, for 60's Chicago blues, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Lots and lots of others in each genre, but those are some of my favorites.

Get anything from Blue Note records, the ultimate jazz label.

For blues follow Koop's advise and also take a look to John Lee Hooker, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Muddy Waters, John Mayall. These are probably the most famous ever. Best blues track ever in my opinion is 'Thrill Is Gone' by BB king.
