no order given:

Pac - (not for his lyrics as much as his versatility)

Big Pun - lyricly superior... he could put some things together I couldn't believe.

Scarface - one of the best storytellers in hip hop

Chuck D - Confrontational waay before em

Em - due to being white, he is confrontational, and has everyone's ear.

I like real og's list but instead of Snoop at #5 I'd throw Jay-z in there.

That would be one thing.

If anyone from NWA gets to be there, it is either Ice Cube or MC Ren.

Dre and Eazy.... meh...

Don't get me wrong, I love both Dre, and Eazy E.... but they just can't hold water VS Ren n Cube.

Dj Pooh?

DOC?

Arabian Prince?

Actually, after I posted, I remembered that DOC could rap circles around all of NWA.

That was untill he wrecked his car, and got a permanent sound to his voice like a cat shit in his throat.

Gangsters Paradise was originaly Pasttime Paradise by... Stevie Wonder? I'm not sure of the artist, but I do know that he and Coolio did some shows together. They were really really excellent. Apparently

You are going to be interesting to have around.

Brotha lynch... ah brotha lynch.

I would say he sometimes says things in his raps that would make Eminem scurry.

Though, it was 24 deep and Season of the Siccness. After that he went and tried to rap too much like E-40, still good, but not as good.

Yeah, I was heavy into the bay area scene untill about 97. Bought a lot of the sick wid it, black market, and jive records from the time.

It's wierd though. At that time, there were a lot of those CD's that NEVER seen radio or MTV play, but EVERYBODY had them.

You dont' see it as much anymore.

Good call on Aesop. The daylight/nightlight tracks display a great flipside for a song.

I'd have to give MF Doom honorable mention.

Also, after listening to his older shit a lot recently, remember that at one time... Ice Cube was the baddest rapper out there.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
