Jan Daley and Michael B. Sutton, president of iMerica entertainment, have been working hard to bring you the next great smooth jazz album.  To be released on April 1, “The Way of a Woman” is shaping up to be a phenomenal set of smooth jazz tunes.  Jan Daley recently released her five song EP “When Sunny Gets Blue” and plans to complete the album with six more brand new songs this Spring. After years of work and mentoring with the Great American Songbook composer Jack Segal, Jan Daley’s renditions of the classic songs are truly top-notch.

If you haven’t yet, check out Daley’s “When Sunny Gets Blue” EP.  It sets a great tone of anticipation for the release of “The Way of the Woman” album and displays the phenomenal musicality and tone that Jan Daley has consistently displayed throughout her smooth jazz career.

The newest release from Geoff Alpert will be sure to keep you dancing all night long! Alpert’s newest album called Open Your Heart, will be sure to open up your heart and ears to these amazing jazz funk sounds. This album has been a long time coming from Geoff and it is definitely safe to say that it was worth the wait.

After the painful passing of his wife in 2002, he went back to his roots and picked up the trombone once again and used the music as a vessel to convey his emotions. With the help of bassist Darryl Williams and musical director/keyboardist Gail Johnson, he was able to create this incredible album. It contains a mix of jazz, pop, R&B and highlights Alpert’s exceptional trombone playing. You don’t necessarily need to be a jazz lover in order to find the beauty in this album. Everyone can find something that they love about this album.

You can listen to the beautiful collection of ten songs on iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon.

Be sure to keep up with Geoff on his official website http://www.geoffalpert.com for any updates.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
