A musical window on the Great Siege

1565 The Musical is being performed again, this time as part of the Historic Cities Festival.

Written by Malcolm Galea with music by Paul Abela, the musical was premiered last February. The concert version will be held at Fort St Angelo in Vittoriosa on Saturday at 7.30 p.m.

The central characters are the young knight Henri and his friend Alessandro. As the Great Siege of 1565 begins, they are eagerly looking forward to the adventures ahead. But when Henri falls in love with Anna, the stakes are suddenly raised. All three struggle to avoid the fate that destiny seems to have laid out for them.

The musical is a Masquerade Theatre Company production directed by Anthony Bezzina.

Tickets at Lm5 can be purchased from the Malta Tourism Authority ticketing booth at City Gate in Valletta until Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and from 4.30 to 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Tickets may also be purchased online.
