Today was good day for pirates. I saw a flac copy of the Phil Spector - Back To Mono (1958-1969) boxset. 3cds plus A Christmas Gift For You that I mentioned above. It was nice to see a better copy than mp3. I started to download it but I felt that wouldn't be right. Then I remembered it was a 1991 release and may have been issued in Canada. After reading Kiwi's article about the $60 billion lawsuit against the record companies, I realized that they most likely pirated the music themselves since they probably didn't pay royalties. I just couldn't feel right about buying pirated music from a bunch of hypocrites. So I put the file on the "copyright pending" list and I may pay for it in a few decades. If that's the way they do business, then it must be the right thing to do.

It is a great boxset.

Love Is The Song We Sing- San Francisco Nuggets 1965-1970 (2007)

4cd set of mostly rare garage tracks. I have been looking for this since it's release 2 years ago. I'm still hoping to find a lossless copy but I'm glad to find this mp3 copy to hold me over until I do. :)

The scan is good quality. You can click on the rear cover scan and enlarge to see the tracklist and artist.

Well, I recently found that lossless copy I mentioned before. It took 2 years to find a mp3 copy then a flac copy falls out of cyberspace right in my lap. Gotta love it!! At the same time a lossless copy of Where The Action Is!- Los Angeles Nuggets 1965-1968 (2009) 4cd set also came along.

Thanks Mike!!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
