He is having some sort of reaction. I'm not sure if it's psychotic or neurotic.

In Fligranti - Business Acumen (2009) - from their second album, Brash and Vulgar.

In Fligrantri are from Brookyn, NY. He describes his music as an "irreverent balance of disco, sex, dirt, distortion and tongue-in-cheek humor... wrappedup in a gritty 70s aesthetic." Check out the beat. A tip of the hat to GhostEnthusiast for the find

"Space Lord"....Monster Magnet...from the album "Power Trip" (1998)

Monster Magnet is an American hard rock band. Hailing from Red Bank, New Jersey, the group was founded by Dave Wyndorf (vocals and guitar), John McBain (guitar), Tom Diello (drums), and Tim Cronin (vocals and bass). The band first went under the name "Dog of Mystery" and later "Airport 75" before finally settling on "Monster Magnet," taken from the name of a 1960s toy made by Wham-O.

Powertrip saw the band departing from its usual lo-fi, stoner metal fare, and enter into an era with a more hard rock-type sound. Guitarist Phil Cavaino joined the band in 1998. "Space Lord", the first single, was a major radio hit and the band went on tour with bands like Aerosmith, Metallica, Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. The songs "Powertrip", "Temple of Your Dreams", and "See You In Hell" also were successful on rock radio.

"The Olde Headboard"...Rasputina from the album "How We Quit the Forest" (1998)

One of my favourite bands.....an amazingly talented outfit...i love their stuff and have every album that they`ve made....

Rasputina is a cello-driven band....started in Brooklyn, New York in 1992, when Melora Creager, an accomplished solo cellist known for touring with Nirvana (playing on live renditions of songs like "All Apologies" and "Dumb"), formed her own cello-focusing band from members who attended the same nanny school in Manhattan (which wasn't known until post-formation). Creager named the band after a song she wrote, "Rasputina".The group is renowned for their unconventional and quirky music style and fascination with historical allegories and fashion, especially those pertaining to the Victorian era.

All of the members seem to share an interest in the Victorian era, and express it most obviously through their clothing, appearing in costume at concerts and in photographs.

Creager writes all of the lyrics for Rasputina, performs most of the vocals, and creates some of the art for the band's albums, singles, and website.

Snow In Mexico - You and My Winter (2009)

Snow In Mexico are a shoegaze band from Italy. One of the band members was kind of enough to send this to me at MySpace, and i have to say it's one of my best discoveries of 2009.

You can check out the cut @ MySpace and see for yourself - but hell, since you were kind enough to drop by to Beatking, HERE's the band's full ep. Get the word out - they deserve the attention.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
