Chaos

Chaos.....

Chaos.....

Power money holy roads

Information overload

Leave me in the bitter cold to die

Killing time has just begun

Clinging to a holy gun

Leave me in the blazing sun to die

You get nothing for nothing

Except what you steal

I' ve got a cut in my soul

That just won't heal

Inject myself with cyanide

Break on through to the other side

Gimme one more try

One last lie goodbye

Chaos, you got a one way ticket to

Chaos, you go down

Chaos, you got a one way ticket to

Chaos, Chaos

Breaking every promise made

Redefine a better way

Asphyxating while I pray I'm dead

Destroy offend and terrorize

Nothing left to vandalize

You can' t make me compromise, I' m dead

You get nothing for nothing

Except what you steal

I' ve got a cut in my soul

That just won't heal

Inject myself with cyanide

Break on through to the other side

Gimme one more try

One last lie goodbye

Chaos, you got a one way ticket to

Chaos, you go down

Chaos, you got a one way ticket to

Chaos, Chaos

Chaos, you got a one way ticket to

Chaos, you go down

Chaos, you got a one way ticket to

Chaos, Chaos

So if you think you're in control

It' s dragging you further down the hole

Right when you thought it all would end

All of the pain is back again

Every attempt to make it stop

Is taking you right back to the top

Nothing you do can change it now

Not that it matters anyhow (CHAOS....)

CHAOS....

CHAOS....

CHAOS....

CHAOS....

CHAOS....

Chaos, you got a one way ticket to

Chaos, you go down

Chaos, you got a one way ticket to

Chaos, Chaos

Chaos, you got a one way ticket to

Chaos, you go down

Chaos, you got a one way ticket to

Chaos, Chaos

Chaos, you got a one way ticket to

Chaos, you go down

Chaos, you got a one way ticket to

5th Dimension - The Ultimate 5th Dimension (2004)

I actually bought this cd for the last track, "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye". I wanted to hear the old Casinos tune as sung by Marilyn. She does a great cover. It is previously unissued but I already had all the other 20 tracks on other cds. I really like Marilyn McCoo's voice. This has got to be the best single cd compilation of 5th Dimension tunes. I also bought Marilyn's 1991 cd The Me Nobody Knows a few yrs back along with her 1998 A Golden Christmas cd.

I like all the tunes here but I guess my favorites are tracks 4, 7, 11, 15, 19.

Review by Tim Sendra

The 5th Dimension were just about the most successful harmony group of the 1960s and The Ultimate Fifth Dimension is easily the most comprehensive single-disc collection on the market. It documents the heyday of the group, mostly their late-'60s tenure with Johnny Rivers' Soul City label and a few tracks from their '70s stay at Bell, and it focuses on their singles — their hit singles, that is. Each of the 20 songs here (the 21st track is a previously unreleased song, "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye") was a Top 35 hit or better. "Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine In" and "Wedding Bell Blues" were their number one smashes; they also had four more Top Ten hits. Even more importantly, they had so many great songs. Their sunny harmonies and lush arrangements gave songs like Laura Nyro's "Sweet Blindness," Jimmy Webb's "Paper Cup," and Neil Sedaka's "Workin' on a Groovy Thing" a light, happy feel that makes them the very definition of "good-time oldies." The disc features liner notes with new interviews with original members of the 5th Dimension, rare photos, and improved sound and is compiled by the group's producer, Bones Howe. This collection is a perfect introduction to the group and should be on every pop music fan's wish list. Even if you already have all their first five albums (which Buddha so graciously reissued before going belly-up and BMG Heritage has kept in print), you will want this disc, since it distills their career into about an hour or so of pure, heavenly gold.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
