"I`m Going Home" ....Alvin Lee/Ten Years After at Woodstock 1969....an old favourite and a choice one....

Alvin Lee is an English rock guitarist and singer. Guitarists like Chuck Berry and Scotty Moore provided his inspiration.

Appearing at the Woodstock Festival, Lee's performance was captured on film in the documentary of the festival and his playing helped catapult him and T.Y.A into stardom

Lee's overall musical output includes more than 20 albums, including 1985's Detroit Diesel, and the back to back 1990s collections of Zoom and 1994 (U.S. title I Hear You Rockin' ). Guest artists on both albums include George Harrison. Their duet on 1994's The Bluest Blues led one reviewer to call it "the most perfect blues song ever recorded."

"Stoned Guitar"...the Human Instinct...from the album "Stoned Guitar" (1969).....i grew up with these guys in the 60`s in Auckland....

"Maori guitarist Billy TK was the Jimi Hendrix of the Southern Hemisphere. He obviously took the lessons of the Master to heart and, on his albums with Human Instinct, took Hendrix's psychedelic approach to absurd new extremes. Not necessarily the greatest listening experience, but definitely the farthest "out" of any guitar psyche you're likely to ever hear. This album is one of the most important chapters of rock from that era. "

N.B: Note the video backround shots of sheets of blotting-paper acid...ah the good old days...

Placebo - Running Up The Hill (2007)

Placebo are an alternative rock band formed in London. This song is a cover of the Kate Bush song. It was originally released on the bonus disc of their 2003 album Sleeping with Ghosts and on the re-released Meds in 2007. Placebo's take on the song is more downbeat than the original - it has been described by Q Magazine as 'sound[ing] more like a pact with the Devil' than the original 'deal with God' I wouldn't go that far

The Chromatics

The song also appears on Oregon's Chromatic's 2007 album 'Night Drive'.

milk & alcohol: dr feelgood: 25 years of dr feelgood (1997).....i saw these guys live more years ago than i care to remember....the original version....they were a great live act...original vocalist Lee Brilleaux could play a mean harp..

Dr. Feelgood are a British pub rock band, which was formed in mid 1971. The name of the band, Dr. Feelgood, is slang for heroin, or for doctors who are prepared to overprescribe drugs.

The group's original distinctively British R&B sound was centered on Wilko Johnson's choppy guitar style. Along with Johnson, the original band line-up comprised John B. Sparks (bass guitar), John Martin aka The Big Figure (drummer) and Lee Brilleaux (vocals).

Like many pub rock acts, Dr. Feelgood were known primarily for their high energy live performances, although studio albums such as Down by the Jetty (1974) and Malpractice (1975) were also popular. Their breakthrough 1976 live album, Stupidity, reached number one in the UK Albums Chart....

Despite its thriving British success, Dr. Feelgood was unable to find an audience in the United States.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
