Radiohead have no record contract

Recommended Posts

radiohead.jpgRadiohead.com has been updated with a "Dead Air Space" blog/journal that Thom has been posting in.

Among his sometimes hard to understand sentences is this nugget of info about Radiohead's current record label status:

"we have no record conntract. as such. any offers?..what we would like is th e old EMI back again, the nice genteel arms manufacturers who treated music a nice side project who werent to bothered about the shareholders. ah well not much chance of that....."

He also mentions that the band will be heading to the studio on Thursday.

:everyone: HOORAY!!! :everyone:

Okay, assholey of me, but I never really liked Radiohead. And the overworked hardon that people have for them has always eluded me. On the upside, they mention a fine point in the problem with music today. All these companies worry about is polishing the knobs of the shareholders. Of course that goes for about everything, not just music.

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
