Help Make Poverty History

Poverty will never vanish, unless technological advancements make it so that the wants and needs of 7 billion people can be met indefinitely.

Unlimited food supplies….

Unlimited housing space….

Unlimited………well………..everything.

If I was a betting man...............well............................can't say I'd be in poverty after that.

The intentions are good, but the view of the world they think they can create is delusional.

I’m not picking on the premise here, I’m picking on the language of the words I quoted.

You can't say that Ken! 30,000 kids dieing a day is not needed so that we can live.

China can support their population, India can support theirs - I'm sure that the continent of Africa can support a population of a lot less per square mile.

It is not their fate to die so that we can live.

Ken

research shows that this planet has enough supplies to feed 30 billion people so poverty can indeed be history if the goverments and people work well. It's a dream but it is possible.

The lazy can live in poverty by themselves...

Think of every bit of food you throw away within a week...it would most likely feed at least 2 people.............most likely more...take that and times time the # of people who throw scraps away. There is enough food. There is enough everything...including multi millionaire hog wash bastards that ain't doin dick.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
