John Mayall

If you are a fan of early 60s British blues rock, this 2CD set is a MUST for your collection.

Easily the best John Mayall release of his early years .

The master recordings were tied up in litigation of some sort, so this stunning collection remained unreleased until sometime in the mid-90's.

If you enjoyed The Beano album w/ Clapton...this will floor you.

Smooth confident easy-going ....the band is in top form.

Good clean mix.

Let's see now ...who was on this album....Eric Clapton....Peter Green....Mick Taylor..John McVie...Mick Fleetwood..and many other noteables.

(If so inclined ..you can fill in the blanks at allmusic.com)

Both CDs are good.

Not a bad tune anywhere.

It was a pleasure to discover this hidden treasure ,so many years after it was recorded.

This was truely a supergroup .....probably one of the first.

I noticed they mentioned this guy in their similar artist column below:

Roy Buchanan: Sweet Dreams: The Anthology

He turned down The Rolling Stones and a chance at stardom. He just liked playing the guitar :)

Kooperman...The Turning Point is awsome..w/ Jon Mark & John Almond.

What a lot of people didn't know at the time was that there was no drummer on the album....and it was recorded Live.

One of the BEST all time Live recorded albums.

Try also: Jazz Blues Fusion album by John Mayall.

It is an equal to Turning Point

Mark-Almond Band....aahhh...The City ...NY State of Mind..(still my fav version)...nice mellow stuff.

They always remind me of a friend who went to buy their album...and actually bought Marc Almond ...that disco guy...Tainted Love ...etc .

When he realized his error and went back to the record store to return it...they refused ...he got so mad that he broke the vinyl in half and flung it at the record store employee....yippie

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
