La Barokka

New Single to be released next week

Thursday, 05 May, 2005

Soprano La Barokka has just launched her first official music video for the classical/RnB song called "You" which was shot mainly in central London last February.

During the launch, La Barokka said that Maltese director Marvin Baldacchino, who is currently working and studying at the New York Film Academy in London, immediately took to the song. The teachers of Mr Baldacchino also liked it so they gave him the go-ahead to produce a video for it.

La Barokka wearing short sleeves in the cold London temperatures is shot in popular areas such as the London Eye and Piccadilly Square. Maltese RnB artist Pendemonium also features in both the song and video.

Mr Baldacchino said that it took him and a team of other five persons a total of four days to shoot the filming using 16mm.

La Barokka also launched her first website www.labarokka.com which was created by Verve Studios, directed by Andrew Spiteri. Besides up-to-date news about the artist, tracks can be heard and the new video can be downloaded. All those who would like to keep in contact with La Barokka, may do so by sending emails which will be answered by the singer herself. "That way I can communicate with people," she said.

Moreover in around one week, she is expected to release a new Single, called "No doubt about it" which include more RnB beats aimed at younger generations.

Both songs were produced by Freetime Studios, written by Robert Govus while the music was composed by Elton Zarb. Tonio Cardona took care of the mixing for "You".

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
