Wasn't this out a while ago? Hmm... yea, I have the issue right here. Cobain doesn't deserve to be on the list.... if a schmuck like me can play what he played, then no, he does not deserve it. My hand barely fits on the damn guitar.

I've always hated this lists. They come out every few months, are there are so many people who shouldn't be on there. If we are talking about the impact their styles had on the music scene maybe, but if we are going by straight talent, how the hell did Kurt Kobain and Johnny Ramone beet Brian May? or Steve Cropper, Dave Gilmore, Booker T, Bo Didley, Lou Reed, John Foggerty....and the list goes on.

As long as we are on the subject, Hendrix is overrated.

Hendrix...overated guitar!!!!! and frank zappa at 45 and robert fripp at 42?!?!?! wat is up with that

Drakee, you're right, Hendrix doesn't play as good as a lot of guys...but you have to consider he hasn't practiced in about 34 years. If he was alive I expect he'd still be pretty amazing.

... i like how you said that ... kinda funny to me how some get a tad bent out of shape when a list is posted, but it's not like any list is the final word or law ... lists really do make for great discussions, finding out what others think, who should be added, or zapped ...

& hendrix ... he could do it all, he was so versatile ... he could play so hard, and at other times, so soft and beautiful, like when he played acoustic ... a natural talent ... i love so many of his songs like little wing ... one rainy wish ... one song he did, long hot summer night, acoustic ... when he gets to the end, he says, awww, i forgot the song ... and that was the end of it ... just kinda makes me smile when i hear it, the real thing ...

... just look at those fingers ...

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
