Have other Firefox users noticed the emergence of pop-ups capable of ignoring your "block pop-ups" settings?

I never get any popups although I visit a lot of *cough* humour *cough* sites with opera. It warns me that it blocked some popus and sometimes I even open them cause I find them really amusing

i've been getting pop-unders for the last few weeks, very annoying and am waiting for the usual fix-it thingy. (got them at worth1000.com among a few others). i can tell now when i've got one cause like my entire browser/tabs 'flash' like, for a micro-second (so i immediately look under and X out the little box before it loads--fuck 'em)

i was gonna say that i'm on firefox 1,0 but i get like maybe 2 or 3 a day and sometimes none. i go to a lot of political and tech sites...i don't know marketing but judging by the one site i remember (worth1000), i'd imagine that there are more on really popular sites like that, that have huge page-view numbers.

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
