HERNAN CATTANEO 'RENAISSANCE: MASTERS SERIES VOL. 2'

The next instalment of the 'Renaissance Masters' series has arrived with Argentinean house superstar Hernan Cattaneo in control of the mix.

This edition brings the vibe of the Renaissance label together with the energetic blend of genres that Cattaneo builds into his hypnotic sets. Known for being able to weave together a variety of genres such as house, breaks, tech-house and even techno, his fans are as diverse as the tunes he plays.

Turning to the tracklist and it’s everything you may expect, focusing on some of the brightest luminaries from within the scene.  CD1 takes in Polefolder, 16b, the most excellent Tom Middleton, Morel, Dean Coleman and Tigerhook. Whilst CD2 looks to the likes of Quivver, Nick Muir, Satoshi Tomiie’s remix of Hybrid and Underworld. Both discs, throughout, are peppered with Hernan’s own productions and re-edits, many exclusively created for the album.

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
