Hüsker Dü- lead singer Bob Mould out and politically active R.E.M.-lead singer Michael Stipe calls publically himself 'a queer artist' but doesn't identify himself as hetero,homo, or bi. In his personal/private life he has been ina a relationship with 'an amazing man'(his words). Asked about identifying as gay: "I don’t. I think there’s a line drawn between gay and queer, and for me, queer describes something that’s more inclusive of the grey areas."
