  13. i love those prickly posts, guys My computer problems were routine, but with my mac specialist out of town, I was stuck going to a garden store variety jt, where you have to wait a few days before they even look at you computer. Since one of clients (who has an extra mac) was in Thailand, I was stuck. Then the guys took their time, and then when it came time to pick it up, they said they could not EXCEPT AN OUT OF STATE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT from one of my business associates in Chicago, and to make matters worse, they suggested they would have to send the computer to the guy who would be paying for it!!! I said, why not send him the invoice, or check with Platinum American Express, but no go; then they guy had the audacity to say we might be trying to skirt state taxes, even after I said, well ADD FUCKING CALIFORNIA AND ILLINOIS STATE TAXES, WHO GIVES A FUCK! Needless to say, they didnt care for me much, and needles to say, I will never give any business to these idiot assholes again :reallymad: But miracles of miracles, Im back on line and thanx for the thread

  16. I collect some stainglass, WarFlower, mostly from the Arts and Crafts period (1910-1920). ** Im a studio and production exec veteran, but wouldnt trade that prestiege and money for the highly speculative stuff Im doing now. Outside of Beatking, I'm primarily a manager/producer in the entertainment industry, and handle a few writer/directors and an actor, and produce motion pictures every several years. I have recently decided to partner with a music manager and expand my clientele to music, largely because the Beatking influence. I also write screenplays on occasion, and have a reputation as one of the more highly skilled script doctors in hollywood--I work one-on-one with the writer through development and production, and have worked with novices and academy award winners. Last but not least, Im working on a project dealing with developing new talent in third world countries--thats had to take a backseat temporarily... Over the last several years, I have gravitated to consulting work for several Silicon Valley firms, who are developing new technologies for Hollywood. This work requires a great deal of research and writing. I have recently partnered with an engineer I met up there and we are developing our own applications. That partnership led to my research at ZP, and ultimately thats how I ended up at Beatking. *** I collect some stainglass, WarFlower, mostly from the Arts and Crafts period (1910-1920).

  21. White Stripes Disavow Documentary The White Stripes have gone on the offensive against a filmmaker they say has released an unauthorized documentary about the duo. "Nobody Knows How To Talk to Children," which was recently screened at the Seattle Film Festival, was shot by George Roca over the White Stripes' four-night stand in 2002 at New York's Bowery Ballroom. "He wanted to videotape the entire event, stage performance and backstage goings on for his demo reel," the band writes on its official Web site. "We said yes to his request provided he and his crew agreed to the following conditions: 1) it had to be all shot in black and white 2) the cameramen had to wear uniforms (white lab coats in fact), 3) no camera people were allowed to talk to anyone (this was to present a sense of easiness around the building so that people would be more themselves instead of being intimidated with a camcorder taping them the whole time) and 4) the White Stripes own the footage 100%. "George Roca agreed to all of these terms. He signed a contract along with his co-workers stating that the White Stripes completely own the footage, and nothing could be done with this without our permission." http://64.4.16.250:80/cgi-bin/linkrd?_lang...fpCCVbafpL9g%2f
  22. Any critic who begins with the pompous statement "When the album was released (1967), there was very little "serious" rock criticism in the mainstream press"--has already lost me. I dont know about you, but I the best critics I now is my ears. This book of critiques is likely to infuriate rather than inform you. Take his review of Sgt Peppers, which while I agree it wasnt the best Beatles album, it certainly is not rubbish. Frankly, I think the guy is full of shit, and my guess is the others guys are, too. As the famed movie critic Pauline Kael once said, a good critic's job is to excite people about the entertainment experience. I'd rather hear of the Beatle's lesser cuts than to read this whiney critic's review again. thumbsdown
