1. Soundcrash presents the ultimate audiovisual DJ on a cinema sized screen at The Forum! After selling out the IMAX, KOKO and The Roundhouse DJ Yoda is back for his bi-annual flagship London Audiovisual shows! Acclaimed by critics and loved by masses of sweaty, happy crowds the world over, DJ Yoda’s audiovisual extravaganza arrives at The Forum to make use of their giant screen and late license… blink and you’ll miss out on tickets! Duncan Beiny aka DJ Yoda is no ordinary scratch DJ. His seminal How To Cut & Paste series showcased a tongue-in-cheek mixing style that prompted Q Magazine to declare him “one of the ten DJs to see before you die”, whilst Hip Hop Connection voted him “one of the top three DJs in the world”. Originally a hip hop dj, DJ Yoda has been steadily incorporating a myriad music styles into his shows with a view to create exhilarating musical collages, from reggae to drum’n’bass, electro to country music – and often at the same time! – concocting an intoxicating blend with one single aim in mind: to get the party going! Trail-blazing into the world of the audio-visual he has pioneered a new artform using cutting edge technology that he has been instrumental in developing to scratch and mix visuals on top of his DJ sets. Drawing from sources as diverse as classic movies, obscure television shows, or viral youtube clips, you can find him cutting up the Indiana Jones theme tune to full on dubstep, or dicing and splicing the Muppet Theme with classic Hip Hop in amongst the inimitable audiovisual whirlwind that is DJ YODA. He’ll be supported on stage by the Trans-Siberian March Band – a thirteen piece brass band bringing together the finest elements of Balkan Ska and Ottoman battle-punk. Known in wider and wider circles as “the Sex Pistols of Balkan Brass”, this lot are a dangerous, flammable bunch and are guaranteed to up the energy to fever pitch! Live AV support comes courtesy of the irrepressible DJ Cheeba. Party classics and dancefloor killers come together with iconic video clips and obscure youtube gems as Solid Steel’s Cheeba dices and splices audio and video live in front of your eyes! Already bossing the Bristol scene and having supported some of the biggest names at a myriad London shows DJ Cheeba has a proven track record of lighting rooms up with his quickfire mixing and flawless tune selections. Further support on the evening will come in the form of Abandoman, the hilarious improv-comedy duo making waves in the UK after winning Hackney Empire’s Best New Act of the Year 2010 and The Musical Comedy Awards in 2010 – they create side splitting musical sketches on the spot, reinventing hip hop in a way that appeals to all audiences. Magical Bones combines show-stopping dance moves with mesmerizing sleight of hand. One of UK hip hop’s most respected figures, he is a gifted showman and his performances are a joy to behold! 2. Soundcrash presents a one-off joint headline show for the desert soul rebels Tinariwen and cosmopolitan folk singer/songwriter José González. An utterly unique night of musical excellence you don’t want to miss. You’ve got to be doing something right when you can count amongst your fans the likes of Thom Yorke, Brian Eno, Carlos Santana or TV On The Radio. Formed in rebel training camps in Libya, these exiled nomads-turned-rockstars of the Sahara have become the soundtrack for Touareg independence and reconciliation, combining traditional Touareg melodies with Malian, Western, Berber and Arabic influences to create spare, evolving, hypnotic grooves. As if Keith Richards, Santana, John Lee Hooker, various members of Primal Scream, Mogwai and the Grateful Dead had got lost in the Sahara for a decade and then returned as a fully-fledged desert band. They have opened 2012 with a bang, winning a Grammy Award for Best World Music Album and the award for Best Group at the Songlines Music Awards. José González, whose family fled their Argentinian homeland bound for Sweden when the military Junta came into power, provides a perfect counterpoint to the hypnotic relentlessness of Tinariwen’s grooves. Being exposed to latin-american melodies from an early age and drawing from the idiosyncrasies of Scandinavian folk José González’s music is a unique hybrid which takes the best of both worlds. Both poignantly beautiful and subtly warm, José González will win over your heart and mind. Concerts don’t get any better than this. Two hugely renowned acts come together for the first and only time tonight at The Shepherd’s Bush Empire for a very, very special show. Be there. http://www.soundcrashmusic.com/tinariwen-jose-gonzalez/

 5. With more than a dozen albums to their credit including six on Warp Records, Plaid’s position in the history of electronic music is assured. Never ones to rest on their laurels though the past 12 months has seen them not only release one of the best albums of their career, the stunning Scintilli, but unveil a brand new live AV show that has been dropping jaws worldwide. Joining Plaid on stage will be several of the most exciting new producers around today including San Francisco’s Eskmo, who over the past 10 years has featured on labels such as Ninja Tune, Warp and Planet-Mu and Manchester’s Illum Sphere described as “one of the most special and unique artists to come out of the UK” by Hyperdub’s Ikonika. With more acts to be announced this is already shaping up to be one of the biggest nights this year for electronica fans in London Since Soundcrash launched Videocrash back in 2010, the night has become the place in London to witness the best in A/V clubbing, with the likes of Hextsatic, DJ Yoda, Amon Tobin and Kid Koala locked in a visual arms race to create the most jaw dropping spectacles clubland has seen and redfine what a live show looks like in this day and age. 6. Our favourite turntable soul band present a new direction in sound at The Scala in London. With their brand new LP “Rollerchain” forthcoming on Tru Thoughts records, Belleruche have created a more bass heavy, evocative and darker sound in the studio and on stage, whilst still retaining that melodic soulful touch that made us fall in love with the band in the first place. You don’t want to miss this. ‘Rollerchain’ will be released 07/05/12, showcasing new instrumentation, complexity and attack that take the band’s core elements to a new level. A very modern sound combined with classic song writing ability, the album is a collision of haunting vocals, aggressive analogue sounds and bleeding edge electronic production. Of all the new acts to have emerged so far in 2012, Py is definitely one of the most interesting, her astounding voice matched only by the calibre of producers such as Breton, George Fitzgerald, Raffertie and Greenwood Sharps that she has been working with. Also in support will be Soundcrash favourite and consumate bass merchant Kidkanevil! Representing London’s vibrant beats scene, this versatile producer is equally at ease making beats in his studio or playing out in clubs, giving his live sets a distinct personality as he weaves his own productions with the heaviest beats around and manipulating them to his advantage – and yours. Always keeping with the times, Bonobo will once again delight with a selection of cherry-picked upfront electronic tunes mixed in with his own creations to conjure an intoxicating cocktail of unbeatable dance music. Whether it be with his critically acclaimed live band or equipped with a pair of turntables Bonobo has never failed to raise the roof so make sure you don’t miss out on this guaranteed sold out show! 8. More supports announced! Keep Up! (Live A/V set) DJ Irk (Winner of the 2011 Solid Steel Mix of the Year)
 9. Soundcrash & The Doctor’s Orders are proud to present a meeting of two giants as Jurassic 5’s DJ Nu-Mark shares one stage with A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammad in this supreme Hip-Hop DJ encounter! Recent Zulu Nation inductee Nu-Mark’s DJ sets have become infamous for his creativity and ingenuity. As a member of the legendary Jurassic 5 he graced the group with precision production and cutting edge stage routines. Best known for his production on the raw anthem “What’s Golden” such creativity only hinted at the visionary creativity Nu-Mark has explored since Jurassic 5’s breakup in 2006, which is incidentally the last time he has played in the UK. Today Nu-Mark experiments with children’s music toys and constructs full DJ sets around toys most people dispose of by the time their kids are old enough to read, and we’ll be able to see some of that on the night! (check it out – http://youtu.be/Bb4etMWgEyU) Sharing the bill with Nu-Mark is none other than A Tribe Called Quest DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad. An integral part of ATCQ’s iconic productions, Ali joined J-Dilla and Q-Tip in the collective The Ummah and later formed Lucy Pearl with Raphael Saadiq. With a resumé like that you’d think one would want to live off the inertia and lazy about, but Ali Shaheed decided to prove that he wasn’t just another Hip-Hop DJ and published his solo album in which he was able to explore more of his music abilities and influences. Keeping proceedings fresh will be the usual quality selection of DJs you’ve come to expect from both Soundcrash & The Doctor’s Orders, headed by resident and DMC UK Champion Mr Thing, The Doctor’s Orders own Spin Doctor & Chris P Cuts. 10. Breton live is an intense, hypnotic experience as the band perform to a backdrop of their self shot films and graphics – mixed in real time by their VJ in a synergy of sound, timing, rhythm and visuals. For this collective of film makers and musicians the two mediums of visual and audio are utterly integrated and of equal importance. Tickets are very limited and it’s a strictly no guestlist show so make sure you grab yours now. Needless to say, we’re very excited. 12. Returning exclusively to London for the second time ever, our favourite Victorian garmented futurist is back with his trusty beat-crunching Monome and steamfunk audiovisual invention Archimedes! This new audiovisual spectacular is simply jaw dropping, and has been causing a huge fuss in many corners. Check out this footage of him live in NYC last year. Imagined by Daedelus, created with the expertise of Emmanuel Biard and David Leonard, and premiered at KOKO to huge acclaim Archimedes is an impressive bespoke mechanised wall of moving mirrors. In time with the music Archimedes twists lights and flips images projected from its base, amplifying the already-ecstatic light show for a unique visual experience. Accompanying Daedelus in main support will be Taylor McFerrin, who has been turning heads with his one-man musical show. Combining his skills as a producer and performer, Taylor builds songs from scratch with his ambitious solo project. Vocals, Fender Rhodes, synthesizers, samples, and beat boxing are meshed together as Taylor draws deep from his roots in ‘60s soul to his vision of future hip-hop. Brighton based Ambassadeurs has built a serious international following online by giving away incredible tracks like MOPE. Tastemakers worldwide have picked up on his productions with XLR8R in particular giving premieres to the video for MOPE and new track Duke Red . Off the back of this support Ambassadeurs was in XLR8R’s most downloaded artists of 2011 list. Back in the UK Tru Thoughts, Ninja Tune and Moshi Moshi have all enlisted his talents for remixes while his live show is earning him festival bookings around Europe. 2012 is set to be a big year for Ambassadeurs with the release of his debut album in Autumn. On DJ support will be two of the top selectors currently residing in the UK: the mighty Kutmah and Throwing Snow will be showing us how it’s done! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAub9Yvn3UI Tickets here: http://www.soundcrashmusic.com/daedelus-with-archimedes-taylor-mcferrin-more/#

Vocals, Fender Rhodes, synthesizers, samples, and beat boxing are meshed together in his live performances as Taylor builds from his roots deep in ‘60s soul to his vision of future hip-hop. Hailing from a musical family – his father being Bobby “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” McFerrin – Taylor feels at ease with a variety of instruments and musical registers and has attracted the attention of music luminaires the world over, not least of Flying Lotus who quickly invited him to join the illustrious ranks of the Brainfeeder family. This is the first chance to catch Taylor McFerrin performing in London, make sure you don’t miss it. After extensive touring with Bonobo in the last year the self-taught South-London soulstress is ready to further her solo career and this show is set to cement her growing reputation as one of the most genuine and soul-stirring singers in the UK and beyond. 18. Soundcrash takes you on a sonic adventure to the far reaches of the galaxy with 4 consummated sound explorers at the controls. Join us on a journey through the most colorful soundscapes known to man as we hand over the reins of the KOKO mother-ship to LA’s Daedelus launching his new AV set, Luke Vibert aka Wagon Christ aka Captain Acid, Brainfeeder’s Kutmah and his black box of delights plus the Hidden Orchestra, who’ll be coming out of hiding to deliver a full live show. Everyone’s favourite Victorian-garmented futurist is set to turn entire worlds upside down from his podium at KOKO with his deft skills, elegant flair and wild imagination. Unveiling a brand new AV set for the first time in the UK tonight, the Ninja tune and Brainfeeder sound sculptor will create his brand of exotica dance music in front of your own eyes with the aid of his trusty Monome and approximately 5 and a half tons of talent. You can always count on Luke Vibert to rip it up from his laptop at any event, be it as Wagon Christ or as himself he will always deliver the goods. As hard to describe as he is to track down, Luke’s sets shine for their unpredictability, but you know you will definitely be getting a healthy dose of acid bleeps, some wobbly basslines and bruised feet. Just the way it should be. Djs don’t get much better than Kutmah. The eclectic quick-mixing firebrand cut his teeth at the legendary Low-End Theory nights in LA playing alongside the likes of Flying Lotus and the Gaslamp Killer and in many respects surpassing them with his flawless mixing and sick music selections. From reggae to dubstep, punk and hip hop, styles merge into one relentless deluge of ill beats. Kutmah cannot be overlooked. Last but not least come the Hidden Orchestra, a truly hidden gem hailing from Scotland to deliver their much-loved live show with two drummers; and a mixture of deep electronica with jazz (and a sprinkling of krautrock) that is making the delights of crowds the world over. Make sure you get in early for this! Line-up: Daedelus (exclusive live AV set) Luke Vibert aka Wagon Christ Kutmah Hidden Orchestra Info & tickets: http://www.soundcrashmusic.com/daedelus-luke-vibert/
 19. Dj Kentaro is a beast. Watching him scratch while listening to what sounds he makes defies one’s sense of reality and logic; how can he create these sounds with just a pair of decks? How can his hands move quite that quickly? And where the hell are his headphones? Yes, Kentaro is a mad dexterous surgeon who slices and dices beats into a breathtaking sonic concoction in his Sendai laboratory and at events all over the world. When Kentaro is behind a set of 1200s and a mixer, things go off. His shy demeanor betrays a true master at work… the true master at work. Following victory as Asia’s first World DMC champion in 2002 with on of the highest recorded scores he has gone on to conquer the world with appearances on almost every cover of every hip-hop magazine in print and a string of highly acclaimed LPs and mix-tapes on Ninja Tune. DJ Kentaro is something else. See it to believe it. Smerins Anti-Social Club are a nine piece multi-genre band from Bristol. Back in their home town the expectation they raise is such it’s practically impossible to get into one of their gigs. And thanks to touring the biggest festivals in the UK they are now steadily making a name for themselves nationwide as one of the most vibrant and exciting bands around. Watch out for their single “Dr Who” on Tru Thoughts records later this year, a dub/reggae version of the TV theme tune of the same name with Tenor Fly on vocals, setto be the track of the summer. And we really mean that. In Room 2 Bonafide magazine bring out the treats for their magazine launch party with One Handed Records’ own Bullion on the beats and Big Dada’s Infinite Livez on the mic. The combination of Bullion’s penchant for quirky and unusual samples for his heavy instrumental beats, and Infinite livez disticntly deranged vocal prowess makes for a very special and out there show. If you’re looking for something a bit different in your life look no further. In support the always reliable, always on form, always on time… the one and only Mr Thing, (aka the best party hip hop dj in the UK aka the good one from the Scratch Perverts). Info & Tickets available here: http://www.soundcrashmusic.com/dj-kentaro-smerins-anti-social-club/ BONUS: Infinite kindly put together this Japan inspired mini-mix ahead of Saturday's show.
