HO HO HO HO! :nope: We were talking about SOFT drugs like hemp & extacy. The ones you mentioned all used HARD DOPE, like heroine & speed! I once heard someone say that all these things (like alcohol, nicotine, coffeine and the drugs that are in use for centuries - like opium, hemp, quat and mushrooms) will do no harm as long as they are used in a ritual way and proportion. The people you mentioned all used far to much, and used alcohol as well! (I hope you understand what I mean. This is one of the times that I realise that English is NOT my native language and the matter is very complicated. I may use some words totaly wrong....)

On Oprah she admidded that there was hardly anything real on her. She talked about her wigs, her nails, her BOOBS, and her various facial operations and botox-injections. But I would NOT consider LSD as harmless. Think of the flashback effects! People think they grow nuts!

An answer from the Netherlands, but do not think that I'm experienced with those drugs. I never used anything besides hemp and what the PD prescribed, such as Zoloft and oxazepam (tranquilizer). (which are REAL hard drugs) But: I never heard any negative rumours about those drugs. They won't harm you as long as your mind is healty and you do NOT take double doses. And of course, do not mix drugs or drugs with alcohol. (which is a hard drug as well) The worst thing that can happen with E is, that there is a possibility you get something else instead. In our country you can have your pills tested on being real extacy. My 24-year old daughter has RSD, and to relieve her pain she uses hemp. Her neurologist (right word?) tells her that blowing is much more inocent than 'taking the pills that I subscribe...' he says! (I wonder what extacy would do to her? Maybe she ought to try it.... If anyone has experience with it, please tell me....) And in the adiction-clinics that I visited, every time when my former husband was in one, I never met people who were there for those drugs. Most of the patients were there because of alcohol, legal drugs, gambling & anorexia.

Nearly all artist live that way. They had a cosmetical operation OR a nose job OR they use hard dope OR they drink too much. They all mess with their bodies, one way or another. You should not forget that DP started with these things at a time that we all did NOT believe it could do you harm! And when she had her first brest job, it was not SHE who decided, it were the producers who told her to do so. At that time she wasn't as self supporting as she is now. Mrs. Parton sees herself as a 'cartoon personality', like Betty Boop. I saw her on Oprah and she made a great impression on me. Everything about her was artificial and she still managed to be quite feministic. Do not understand me wrong, I do not promote this way of living, but for an artist these things are different, I think.

I think that the influence of uncontroled internetting is NOT good for children! However, you can hardly forbid it, but When my kids were young, the 'strange influences' were: School, scouting, sports and TV, which I could control! Nowadays kids have a PC on their own room......... I do not BLAME the internet, I just think it has a part in these kind of things.

I still think the same about this mather. Because lots of the first white people that were imported in the US of A were religious freaks. I adore them! I love the way it confuses you. You recognize a typical Dylan melody and then you hear the voice of Harisson, and things like that. I think I agree with you. Anyway it is pointless to argue, you living in the UK and me here in the Netherlands. Laws are different. Here we have an institute that advises the judges in these cases. Translated it would be: Counsil for children defense. They make ridiculous reports! And so far you are right: as long as a mother gets custody, they are not involved. As soon as a father gets custody, they are! But, if it is not for a mother to decide if the children are safe and well taken care of, it is this Counsil! And there are many cases known that after asking their advise, the children end up in a home or with foster parents. I cannot estimate the situation in the UK. I only wanted to say that these fathers sometimes have themselves to blame, because they spoil the kids in these weekends or act in a way that the kids do not want to go anymore themselves! I was very happy with the situation them going every seccond weekend. That changed of course, after I learned that they were abused.. But untill I knew that, I enjoyed my small vacations! And I think that most mothers will.

Some of them are right, in our country we have something similar. I really believe that a divorsed mother is very happy when she can leave her responsibility for what it is, once every seccond weekend as long as she knows that the kids are safe and well treated. (I was - at least) So mothers will have a very good reason if they do not use that mini-vacation. In my case it were the kids that did no longer want to visit daddy, and at last - I tried to force them - they appeared to have a good reason indeed for not going.
