  2. THE GALLERY FRI 15TH AUGUST 2008 THE MINISTRY OF SOUND, LONDON Box: X-Press 2 (6 Hour Set) ** Album Launch Party ** Bar: Hosted by Faith Pete Heller Terry Farley Stuart Patterson Dave Jarvis Chris Linnell Baby Box: Hosted by Union DJs Union DJs Mat Zo I & I Tedd / Rent Boyz / Biased Guy / JT Ricks / Nabs / Isbjorn / Yawar Malik / James Goodhall / Billy Le Kid / Mosh & The Mastronaught / 2 Sugars Lounge: Hosted by Future Friday Feeling Miss Chivers Gravity Dr K Nick B NOshad D Kevin Agius Fresh from last week’s showcase of all things Italian this Friday 15th August our attention is turned towards a production outfit that have cemented themselves as one of the world’s best notching up an impressive discography and regularly hitting the road to play and DJ at some of the world’s leading festivals and clubbing establishments. Proof once again of The Gallery’s wide ranging appeal for artists but also the Gallery regulars trust in our line-ups and music we move seamlessly from the taste of Italy to the trio from Brighton... be upstanding for the legendary X Press 2!!! Rocky, Diesel and Ashley Beedle have become world famous as the trio that make up X–Press 2 and to help celebrate the launch of their Best Of Collection titled Raise your Hands the guys are dropping by to do what they do best and DJ for 6 hours. Combining 3 mixers, 6 decks and a myriad of EFX and quality tunage the boys are always sure fire winners with crowds across the globe and we are delighted to b hosting the London leg of the tour. The trio have been dishing up Balearic house, progressive, disco and pop house since the early nineties often employing male vocalists such as David Byrne ('Lazy') and The Music's Rob Byrne ('Kill 100') and Kurt Wagner ('Give It') on their biggest singles. Raise your Hands lifts its title from the Sole Fusion sample used on their first single 'London X-Press' and the collection includes their four big singles from 2002's crossover album Muzikum, three cuts from follow up Makeshift Feelgood as well as early singles on Junior Boys Own, whose entire back catalogue is about to be reissued digitally and physically. The collection also comes with a second remix disc including big X-Press 2 re-rubs by Carl Craig, Freeform Five and Superchumbo as well as X-Press 2's remix of 'Star69' by the artist formerly known as Fatboy Slim and The Gallery faithful will no doubt be treated to a bevy or original and remixes throughout the six hours. In short... this is the London Album Launch Party and it’s gonna be one unmissable event!! Complimenting the X-Press 2 guys will be fellow London legends Faith who’ll be hosting The Bar on the night. Faith are one of the longest running house parties in the capital and easily one of the best and most respected. Their links to the X-Press 2 chaps are endless from the JBO label to regular guest spots at each others parties. It’s like one big live nest, with plenty of acid house thrown in for good measure!!! Representing Faith on the night will be old skool dudes Pete Heller and Terry Farley, plus Stuart Patterson, Dave Jarvis and warm up Chris Linnell. Well worth a visit this week just for the Faith room alone... they’re gonna smash it up!! The Baby Box sees the UnionDJs and assorted friends and entourages return to The Gallery to proudly display their wares whilst the Lounge gets the Future Friday Feeling treatment to round off another mammoth Gallery night out. Little Boy Lost Sander kicked off August with the usual madness ensured by his presence behind the ones and twos and with heavy weight support from our very own leading lady Sister Bliss, Christopher Lawrence and a superb hands in the air finale from Simon Patterson the Box heaved with the usual Gallery faithful till the small hours of Saturday. Not half!!! Not forgeting other notable appearences across the evening from Krysko and Justin Drake in the Bar whilst Dirty did what they do best in the Baby Box and FAQ proved to be a real success with their session in the lounge going on till the wee hours and packed to the rafters it was too!!

On Friday 8th August The Gallery presents ‘The Italian Job’ bringing together a whole host of Italian sights, sounds and spectacles in one club event. With a long tradition of producing greats in a whole range of fields from music to art to football to movies, here at Gallery HQ we’ve always found ourselves welcoming a whole host of Italian’s and tonight we invite a few of them to give us a truly Italia Gallery.

Leading the Italian invasion of Gaunt Street is arguably the greatest of them all Mauro Picotto. Mauro is the first and only Italian featured amongst the world’s top ten DJs and his most successful creation, Meganite has seen events held and residencies held all over the world. Besides the acclaimed Ibiza residency, Mauro and Meganite hold events in Miami, London, New York and many more cities in Europe, Asia, Australia and America. Couple this with a rich heritage of massive productions from pretty much every genre whether it be anthems for the trance masses such as Komodo and Lizard, techno crossover records on his Meganite label or typical genre bending tunes Mauro style; he has plied his trade the world over and brings this wealth of experience, tunage and DJing to Ministry, we can’t wait! Quoted in DJ Mag’s “Fantastic 4” feature, tipped as “Breakthru DJ for 2008” by Judge Jules in the Top 100 DJ Mag edition and voted into the Trance Addict Top 250 DJs, Fabio Stein is one of the leading names of the trance scene emerging at present. The São Paulo-based, Italian born tech-trance pioneer was the very first trance producer from his country to release a major hit in Europe. “Tran-4” was heavily supported by many of the world’s top DJs, considered by Judge Jules “the best track of 2006”, featuring on many CD compilations, air played 14 consecutive times on BBC Radio 1 and lead to the start of a huge demand for Fabio’s trademark sound. His European debut was at The Gallery and since then has gone on to appear at the likes of Dance Valley and Judgement Sunday in Ibiza. Taking it up a gear is his forte and will be a welcome addition to this Italia special to do just that! Albert Vorne, who’s been simmering away for a few years as a serious talent, joins the Box lineup. The man from Milan shot to our attention with his ‘Leaden Day’ track taking trance DJs and clubs by storm. Now signed and heavily involved with M.I.K.E.’s Club Elite imprint and with his album ‘Ravens over my Rave’ about to drop, Albert has become one of those figures synonymous with quality and good taste. A previous studio buddy with Gallery resident Gavyn Mytchel resulting in the track ‘Coincidence’, he’s a welcome figure at The Gallery and a perfect DJ to take the night to the more uplifting end of the spectrum. Over in The Bar we bring back main man Daniele Davoli to headline the funky space. Daniele’s part of clubbing history is long established, not only for his legendary status at Gallery HQ, but for his ace productions under the guise of Blackbox back in the day. Always evolving as a DJ and producer, get ready for another epic outing from the Perfecto hero as he fires up the room alongside fellow Italian stars Francesco Farfa, Claudio Basile and Gabrielle Cutrano. Meanwhile, over in the Baby Box London Insomnia take to the task of keeping you not only staying awake but dancing all night!! Time: 10.30pm–7am Address: Ministry of Sound, 103 Gaunt Street, London, SE16DP Tube: Elephant & Castle Contact: 020 7247 4121 // 020 7740 8627 // [email protected] Prices: NUS & Members £12 // £12 Advance // £15 on the door Advanced Tickets: www.ministryofsound.com/shop www.ticketweb.co.uk - 08700 600 100 www.viewtickets.co.uk www.clubtickets.com- 0870 246 2050 www.thegallery-club.co.uk www.ministryofsound.com/club www.myspace.com/thegalleryclubuk
  4. THE GALLERY – FRI 1 AUG @ MOS – SANDER VAN DOORN, CHRIS LAWRENCE, SISTER BLISS The Gallery - Friday August 01st 2008 Box: Sander van Doorn Christopher Lawrence Sister Bliss Simon Patterson Analog DJs Bar: Anthony Pappa Justin Drake (Peace Division) Krysko Nicole Mouldabar Dave Horne Baby Box: Hosted by Dirty Pauric Oliver Forster Victor von Gurk Lounge: Hosted by FAQ Nic 55 Urusai Gillian Black Jonny Haze August starts with a bang as our first Friday session of the month – that’s 1st August, welcomes the typical mix of all things good at The Gallery from regular and much loved faces to rising talent and buzz name producers and DJs of the moment. It is becoming clear that with several rocking months already under our belt the prophetic words of one of the MOS TV presenters may well be true... “Friday nights will never be the same again!!” Not ones to rest on our laurels here at The Gallery our headliner this week shares a similar outlook on life as us and since we helped launch his album earlier this year he too has certainly not rested on his. Continuing to stride at a pace unmatched by anyone; he of course is the sensational and charming Sander van Doorn. Returning to his home here at Gallery once again Sander has had a busy few months not only touring the ‘Supernaturalistic’ album across the globe but finding time to launch his own ‘Doorn’ recordings, improve the already brilliant ‘Identity’ monthly radio show, get back in the studio - including the huge collaboration with Marco V as well as appear at leading events such as main stage at Dance Valley, Tiesto’s night in Ibiza, Global Gathering and all over the globe. PHEW!! Christopher Lawrence makes the transatlantic crossing bringing with him his trademark collection of dark, underground records on the trance and psy trance tip that have for years made him a hugely popular figure at The Gallery. Now with his own label entitled Pharmacy and an accompanying radio show; Christopher remains a true boundary pusher and perfect to take it up a notch a little later on at Gallery. Sister Bliss returns to The Gallery and we’re glad to have her around; it simply would not be Gallery without the Bliss making regular appearances with her trademark up for it style of DJing. She rocks it like no one else and with her mix album ‘Nightmoves’ now out in the shops; she’ll provide the perfect soundtrack to this week’s proceedings. The Box is rounded off with the inclusion of trance DJ/producer Simon Patterson. One half of Dogzilla and one time Serious and Judgement Sunday resident has had a busy time of late touring not only with the Dogzilla live show project last year but also seeing solo productions such as ‘Smack’ and ‘Bulldozer’ cement his reputation as a DJ and producer to rival the very best. Now a firm fixture at the biggest clubs around the globe and with a release schedule destined to further his reputation, this a chance to catch him while you can! The Bar welcomes Pacha resident and all round legend Anthony Pappa who last took to the Bar to launch his latest mix album (still on repeat in our offices, it’s that good!) Continuing to collect air miles like they’ve gone out of fashion, Anthony brings his wealth of experience, travelling and exposure to music worldwide to every one of his DJ sets and thus always delivering the goods. Justin Drake, one half of production machine Peace Division gets behind the ones and twos and is joined by Warehouse Project resident Krysko who makes the brief journey down the motorway to give the Bar some of his love. The Baby Box sees Do U Like it Dirty bring their bevy of London talent to the show whilst the intriguingly title FAQ takeover The Lounge! Time: 10.30pm–7am Address: Ministry of Sound, 103 Gaunt Street, London, SE16DP Tube: Elephant & Castle Contact: 020 7247 4121 // 020 7740 8627 // [email protected] Prices: NUS & Members £12 // £12 Advance // £15 on the door Advanced Tickets: www.ministryofsound.com/shop www.ticketweb.co.uk - 08700 600 100 www.viewtickets.co.uk www.clubtickets.com- 0870 246 2050 www.thegallery-club.co.uk www.ministryofsound.com/club www.myspace.com/thegalleryclubuk
