It is rock... I would say a pop-rock...

I thought "old school metallica" is Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning... - Am I getting old?? Or did I misunderstand your post?

Not being a big fan of Nu Metal genre myself, I expected to see more of those here. I know, it's been 9 months since, but finally I got to listen to their album. I did not find it to be any worse than previous once- which is a good thing. Yes- the sound had changed, but not drastically- which means they will keep their crowd. On the scale 1 to 10 they get 7.5 from me.

I think the real rock (and adjacent genres) will never be popular as they were in '60s and '70s. I think rock will stay in local clubs on indie level with some additions of electronic and ethic influences. :frown:

I would also include Terry Bozzio and Grant Collins. MINUS Mike Portnoy
