  1. Amazing, they're making more money now than when they were in their prime. I think the Stones got one more masterpiece left in them and should get Jack White to produce it.
  2. Beggars Banquet. Great songwriting. Let it Bleed comes in a close second. It has a little more variety, conseqeuntly isn't as cohesive. The earlier albums are more singles oriented, and are better is short doses. Rock N Roll Party Supplies
  3. Agreed, It was downhill from here. Stone Cold Crazy was their last great metal song. In comparason, A Night at the Opera was one big fat sellout. Rock n Roll Party Supplies
  4. It's going younger and more generic. It's all about marketing and rock music is just product produced to fit a format on the radio and rack space at your dept. store. There's simply no originality out there in the mainstream, and being a copycat reigns supreme. I will say this, however, there are bands out there who play music for the sake of it, and are signed to small independant labels and make enough money to keep going, however they are very obscure and fragmented, and consequently I doubt we'll every see anything close to the metal/alt rock scene of the late 80's and Grundge of the 90's. 5. The Stones always had the uncanny ability to adapt to the current musical landscape and keep their sound fresh. In many ways, they needed new influences to keep themselves interested. For instance, look at their last classic...SOME GIRLS. Here you got disco, soul music, country music, as well as trademark snarling rock and roll. Since todays music scene is fragmented, there's nothing for the Stones to latch on to, which forces them to cover the same ground they've treaded for over ten years...making them irrelevent.
