  1. Savatage-The Dungeons are Calling [1984] My best friend back then was a serious metalhead and there were a few songs that stayed with me. Brothers Jon and Criss Oliva and Keith Collins were the founding members of Savatage in 1983. They started out being a cross between heavy metal and speed metal and ultimately becoming one of the first progressive metal bands using symphonic instrumentals as their trademark from then on. This is an excellent song. listen to The Dungeons are Calling http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=febtibXA96Q No original video available
  2. Samantha James-Breathe you in [2007] I'm not that moved by many of the new artists but this is a very nice, smooth lounge track by Nu-Soul/Dance/House singer/songwriter, Samantha James. I enjoy her voice as there's a hint of Sade in there. It's off her debut album, Rise, in 2007. check out the video d/l the video [32.6 mbs] http://rapidshare.com/files/187054064/Sama...athe_You_In.mpg
  3. Excellent bluesy type ballad off the Pump up the Volume Soundtrack. check out the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5EdF8cckf8 d/l the video [40.8 mb] http://rapidshare.com/files/194478080/Title_01-2.avi
  4. Teena Marie-Out on a limb [1984-85] Off her best selling album, Starchild, here's an excellent ballad that though it only charted as high as #56, became a favorite house party dim the lights slow jam. I couldn't find a video so I borrowed someone's homemade collage video. check out the video just in case anyone wants this collage http://rapidshare.com/files/193152395/Teen...t_On_A_Limb.mpg
  5. Heatwave-Always & Forever [1977] International funk band whose original line-up consisted of 2 americans, 2 from the UK, a spaniard and a czech. The most noticeable member of the group was Rod Temperton, who went on to make music for many artists, including for Michael Jackson. {Off the Wall, Thriller} Here's one of the best slow jams of all-time. You know how sometimes you're in a relationship and there may be a song that both of you connect with and you identify that song as "our song"? I think I had that connection with this song with about 4 different partners. A timeless track, voiced by original founding member, Johnny Wilder Jr, who two years later would be in a car accident that would leave him paralyzed from the neck down. Even the young crowd can appreciate this one. check out the video d/l the video http://rapidshare.com/files/192477474/Heat...._Live.1977.mpg
  6. Joe's 1st top ten Billboard hit reaching the #2 slot for 5 weeks. Ja Rule & Ashanti guest star. Irv Gotti has the production on this one. It's definitely not one of my favorite Fat Joe tracks & I'm not much of a Ja Rule fan either. I never bought into Ja's 4 ft 10 inch gangsta persona. It's a lite party jam. check out the video d/l the video [40.5 mb] http://rapidshare.com/files/187065442/Fat_...What_s_Love.mpg
  7. Ralphi Rosario & Xavier Gold-You used to hold me [1987] Classic club anthem from house pioneer, Mr. Ralphi Rosario and fellow DJ Xaviera Gold. She dropped the a off her first name {no clue as to why} and tried her luck as an artist. This is her 1st of two #1 dance classics. Here is an ultra rare video of one of her live performances. A must have for the house collectionist. check out the video d/l the video [15.7 mb] http://rapidshare.com/files/184747954/Ralp...d_me_Live-2.mpg
  8. Doobie Brothers-What a fool believes [1979] Classic pop song that won the Grammy for best record of the year. This song was co-written and co-produced by Kenny Loggins. IMO, an absolute must for the Ipod. check out the video http://www.smashbeats.com/v21136/doobie_br..._a_fool_belives d/l the video [54.5 mb] http://rapidshare.com/files/178743298/3_Th...ol_Believes.mpg
  9. Blue Magic-In the rain [1983] The original version is from The Dramatics in 1972. It went to #5 on the pop charts and stayed at #1 for 4 weeks on the R&B charts. I think this group did an excellent cover and IMO, it's better than the original. There's no official video but you can listen to it here. 10. You know what's funny? This guy went platinum with this song, co-wrote Tone Loc's Wild Thing and Funky Cold Medina and then his label told him he had to go gangsta. He never really made another mark in music but at least he didn't sell his soul.
  11. This is off her "Whitney:The Greatest Hits" cd back in 2000. She sang this solo on her 10 times platinum album, "My Love is you Love" in 1998. It was produced by then producer of the moment Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. George is one of my all-time favorite singers as Whitney is as well, and I thought this was an excellent duet. check out the video http://www.smashbeats.com/v20496/whitney_h...i_told_you_that d/l the video http://rapidshare.com/files/178727917/_MV_...ld_you_that.mpg
  12. Sylvester-Someone like you [1986] Off his 1986 album, Mutual Attraction, here's a jam that went to #1 on the dance charts. This version is an extended mix by the late DJ Larry Levan. check out the video d/l the video [32.6 mbs] http://rapidshare.com/files/171333869/Sylv..._Levan_Mix_.wmv
  13. Amber-Sexual [Li Da Di] 1999 Off her second album "Amber" in 1999, here's a very catchy dance track from this Dutch singer that went to #42 on the Billboard charts and #1 on the Dance charts. check out the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmaC5m9mOts d/l the video [40.5 mb] http://rapidshare.com/files/172285009/Ambe...usic_Video_.mpg
  14. Jay Williams - Sweat [1990] As far as I know, this is his only song. A deep house track from 1990 that filled dance floors every where you went. It was produced by Nelson "Paradise" Roman. I couldn't find a video but someone posted the audio on youtube. listen to the track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nc4IXXb0etc
  15. Here's the video to the remix of this song
  16. Aaliyah-At you Best [1994] Off her 8 times platinum debut album, Age ain't Nothing but a Number, here's a remake of 1976 Isley Brothers song. IMO, this is Aaliyah's best ballad. R. Kelly produced this track that went up as high as #3 on the charts. check out the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nz2KVZEQhY d/l the video http://rapidshare.com/files/170635833/Aali...t_your_best.wmv

She was nominated for a Grammy for Best female rock performance for this song. check out the video http://www.megavideo.com/?v=YW9LL7H0 d/l the video [21.7 mbs] http://rapidshare.com/files/168204030/Trac...uro_Version.wmv
  19. As laid back as a track will ever be. Is this music sampled and if so, what artist? I need to get my hands on that.
  20. Nice to see you back and with a classic track, I love this song. Still gets play round my way B)
  21. Minnie Riperton-Loving You [1974] In 1974, the song went to the top of the charts in the US, number two in the UK in 1975, and number three on the R&B charts in the US. This song was produced by Stevie Wonder. You will be able to appreciate her talent in this live version. watch it http://www.megavideo.com/?v=9GQF85MR d/l the video [27.2 mbs] http://rapidshare.com/files/165663940/Minn..._You_-_1975.wmv
  22. Robert John-Sad Eyes [1979] Only 1 of 3 non disco #1 hits in 1979, Mr. Roberto John waited 20 yrs for to get to the top of the charts. It's off his 1979 self titled album. I was searching for this forever because I thought it was Leo Sayer that sang this song. Another one of those timeless ballads, IMO. check out the video http://www.megavideo.com/?v=ECYF2OYC d/l the video [15.8 mbs] http://rapidshare.com/files/165530872/Robe..._-_Sad_Eyes.wmv
  23. Friends of Distinction-Going in Circles [1969] Off their 1969 album, "Grazin", here's a classic R&B ballad that went up as high as #15 on the pop charts and remaining on the charts for 19 weeks. I couldn't find any video of the original group singing this but I got the next best thing. The late, great Mr. Luther Vandross did a cover of this song on his 1994 album songs, "Songs", which earned him 4 Grammy nominations. listen to the original http://media.putfile.com/Frinds-of-Distinc...oing-in-Circles check out the video of Luther's version http://www.megavideo.com/?v=S3UP2SDQ d/l the video [37.1 mbs] http://rapidshare.com/files/161721297/Luth..._quot__1997.wmv
  24. Pretty interesting, can't do an autopsy on skeletal remains.
  25. Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder-Ebony & Ivory [1982] "Ebony and Ivory" is a 1982 #1 hit, spending 7 weeks at that position, written by Paul McCartney, performed with Stevie Wonder. Maybe the most popular racial harmony themed duet ever. It can be found on many 80's compilation cds & on Paul McCartney's 1982 album, Tug of War. check out the video http://www.megavideo.com/?v=CZ789GZU d/l the video [38.4 mbs] http://rapidshare.com/files/159532840/Paul...nd_Ivory_1_.mpg
