By Nadeska Alexis with reporting by Rya Backer Mac Miller is gearing up to drop his new Pink Slime EP with Pharrell after releasing the first single last week, and when MTV News caught up with Miller at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee, he explained that Skateboard P gets the credit for the project's title. The Pittsburgh rapper released the first Pink Slime single, "Onaroll," on June 5 and performed it for the first time at Bonnaroo just a few days later. Before hitting the stage, he opened up about the collaborative project, admitting that he was nervous to record with Pharrell at first. "Pharrell is a very creative person with everything he does," Mac said, detailing one of their recording sessions. "We did this one record called 'Dreams,' and he was like, 'I'ma rap on this.' So he goes outside for 20 minutes and he just comes back, gets in the booth and raps. I don't know what he did in those 20 minutes, but he just went out and came back in with no paper, no anything, and just had a verse ready." As far as the name of the project, that was Pharrell's brainchild as well. "It was his idea. I was at a loss for names," Mac admits. "I was on tour and I was talking to him and he's like, 'I got the name — it's Pink Slime.' I was like, 'That sounds tight. What the f--- is "pink slime"?' He's like, 'Pink slime is the fake meat they use at McDonald's,' and I was like, 'Cool, man.' " From there, the Blue Slide Park rapper got a little bit silly about the deeper meaning in the title. "The meaning is that there is so much filth and ammonia in the world and we're just speaking on how we need to clean up the environment," he joked. "The message is ... we pay for a Big Mac, maybe give me some good beef in there. It's really a political statement we're making." Still, most new fans aren't aware that 2 Chainz, formerly known as Tity Boi, has actually been in the rap game for the past 13 years. In his new Fader cover story, the ATL rapper opens up about his journey. 2 Chainz broke down the trials and tribulations of his journey to success. During the chat he answered any and all questions fans might have, covering his name change, solo deal, and even adjusting to his new found fame. Although the name change most certainly helped boost Tit to the top, many are wondering how exactly he concocted the name 2 Chainz to begin with. Well in the interview Chainz revealed that he retrofitted his new title as a loose homonym for “to change.” He also talked about his past and current label situations, revealing what steps he took to secure a spot at the top. After talking about his former deal with DTP 2 Chainz stated, “After that didn’t do nothing, I was like, Let me figure this sh-- the fu-- out. Let me go to work.” By work he meant releasing seven solo mixtapes in the last five years since “Duffle Bag Boy,” with each project gaining slightly more notoriety than the last. Last year’s Codeine Cowboy and T.R.U. REALigion became street favorites along with his classic “Spend It” which is now a Southern anthem. Just when we thought no one would speak up. Drake's rep has issued a statement denying that his actions resulted in Chris Brown's injury, following a brief brawl a New York City nightclub, while Chris Brown had addressed the incident on Twitter and via a statement from his own rep. Meek Mill sent one coy tweet early this morning, playfully trying to distance himself from the drama, but when Roscoe Dash called him out for being involved in the fight, he responded more forcefully, telling him, “@Roscoedash you gotta chill b4 you b tweeting my name in some sh-- i wasn't even really in! Stay in ya lane!” Drake's rep issued a statement on his behalf, telling TMZ, "Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.I.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. [Drake] did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property." Chris Brown was the last to chime in, sending a tweet around 4pm, writing, "Me and @MeekMill ain't on that bulls---. Real respect Real...." and his rep told GossipCop.com, "Chris, [girlfriend] Karrueche [Tran] and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at WIP. They sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing this incident further." TMZ further reports that the fight broke out between the two camps after Brown and Meek Mill, who was at Drizzy's table, started "trash talking" each other. According to the TMZ source, Brown's face was hurt when Mill threw a bottle at him. Other sources told GossipCop.com that the incident went down around the same time as last call, at 3:50 a.m., when the two crews were partying along with Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo and Fabolous. Right before Brown got hit in the face with the bottle, the eyewitness said Drake looked "pissed" and "serious." Once the bottle was thrown, by someone in Drake's camp — though the site does not specify Mill as the assailant — that's when things got ugly. For about 15 seconds, the two parties, made up of about 15 people each, began throwing glasses, bottles and metal ice containers at each other, with some people getting caught in the crossfire. The site also obtained a photo of Brown's bodyguard, Big Pat, who got a serious head injury during the scuffle. In the photo, Pat is lying on a stretcher with his bloody head bandaged. While GossipCop reported that neither Drake nor Brown ever hit each other, Brown did get a wound on his chin. Right after the incident, both parties left the club and then police officials and the club's bouncers cleared out the club. In addition to the two entourages partaking in the scuffle — which not only injured Brown, but also his bodyguard, Big Pat — one bystander was also injured during the altercation. TMZ reports that a 24-year-old Australian tourist, Hollie C., had been at the club when the incident occurred and was struck by a flying bottle. "Within a few moments of noticing glass being thrown around, I saw a glass bottle headed towards me, consequently hitting me in the head," she told the site. "I immediately started to bleed and proceeded to fall in and out of consciousness." She was brought to the hospital, where she received stitches. She has since filed a police report. "I had to take the subway home with no money or jacket," she added. "Nobody would even sit beside me. My friends were so scared because they did not know where I was." Kellz owes the IRS over $4.8 million in overdue taxes, stretching all the way back to 2007.A rep for the singer said, "R. Kelly is in the process of working everything out with the government and is confident that all his obligations will be satisfied." The breakdown of the alleged non-payments includes: $1,472,366.77 (2005), $710,520.51 (2006), $376,180.11 (2007), $1,122,694.90 (2008), $173,815.18 (2009) and $992,495.24 (2010). The total bill comes to $4,848,072.71. After taking some time off to recover from emergency throat surgery? last year, Kells is expected to make his music return later this month with his 11th studio album, Write Me Back. The lead single from the disc, "Share My Love," was released in February and a second song, "Feelin' Single" hit late last month. The disc is the follow-up to 2010's Love Letter, an ode to Kelly's favorite music from the 1950's and '60's. In December, Kelly shocked fans when he announced that he would be adding 32 chapters to his popular "Trapped in the Closet" series, and in March it was confirmed that the series would be aired on IFC later this year. Of course, in January the cyberlocker market had a rude awakening in the form of the Megaupload raids, and ever since the release scene has been shuffling around and reorganizing. Several file-hosting sites decided to call it quits and with their demise many so-called indexing ‘release’ sites couldn’t find the strength to carry on. Some, however, such as the hugely popular Rlslog.net, carried on regardless but in the last 24 hours perhaps the biggest indexing/release site casualty of 2012 has been announced. OneDDL, a site that in one form or another has been around for the past seven years, has decided to call it quits. The announcement comes as quite a surprise, since only 24 hours ago the site was still posting popular US TV shows and movies. The fact that it did so regularly has not been lost on the studios. The site has operated two domains (OneDDL.com and OneDDL.eu) since Google started logging rightsholder takedown requests against the site in May 2011. During that time Google has received 544 takedowns, of which 356 came from NBC Universal. When contacted by TorrentFreak, okone would not be drawn on the exact reasons for the shutdown. We have been unable to confirm any of the claims. What seems completely certain is that from a downloading perspective OneDDL is no more. Were Drake and Chris Brown really sparring over Rihanna last night? The two got into a scuffle at a New York City club on Wednesday that ended with the NYPD showing up around 4am. As usual, Chris Brown took to Twitter in a moment of reckless abandon, rattling off a few details about the incident, including a photo of his injury, only to delete it minutes later. But was it all over Rihanna? Most signs point to yes. Various reports paint this picture: Chris Brown sent a bottle of champagne over to Drake’s table, but eventually the YMCMB rapper made his way over to Brown and they got into an argument that ended with Rih’s ex being punched in the face and hit with a bottle. Despite Chris Brown’s tweets, there’s no confirmation that Drake actually tossed the bottle, but tensions have been building here for awhile. MMG rapper Meek Mill was also named in the incident for reportedly instigating the fight, and his tweet this morning, "It wasn't me.... Last month, Meek, who’s hung out with Rihanna in NYC over the past few weeks (they hit the strip club for his birthday and she shared pics via Instagram) threw some jabs on Twitter that drew eyes to their relationship. “U took me off ya song cause she let me watch da throne! #dreamsandnightmares," he wrote, alluding that Chris Brown had removed him from his upcoming LP after a fling with Rihanna. Music News By Rob Markman Over ten years later and rap fans are still intrigued by Jay-Z and Nas epic rap battle. The two rap legends have clearly moved past their beef, but an old wound seemingly opened earlier this month after a video titled "Nas Hanging Jay-Z" popped up on YouTube, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the over-the-top stunt God's Son had planned for Hot 97's 2002 Summer Jam concert. The story goes that Nas plotted to perform a mock lynching of his then-rival Jay-Z onstage, but these days, the Queens, New York, rap legend does not want to feed into the negativity. "I really don't even want to acknowledge it," Nas told MTV News on Tuesday. "Everybody's in a different place. I don't even want to acknowledge it. I can't acknowledge that. Jay's my man, and that's that, that's all I'm gonna say." You can imagine Nas' difficulty with the subject considering he and Hov buried the hatchet years ago, but back in 2002, things were rocky, to say the least. A year after Jay-Z debuted his Mobb Deep and Nas dis track "Takeover," Nas aimed to return the favor with an attack of his own on Hot 97's storied Summer Jam stage. Things didn't work out as planned: Once the radio station caught wind of Nas' intentions, it put constraints on his performance and he pulled out of the show. The recently unearthed video documented the creation of an animatronic Jay-Z figure that Nas wanted to hang and the gallows from which he planned to hang the figure. Nas did not appear in the clip, but it was edited with his 2001 track "What Goes Around" playing in the background. It was the hottest story in rap at the time, but 10 years later, it comes off as a moot point. In 2005, Nas and Jay-Z squashed their beef onstage at Power 105.1's Power House concert in New Jersey, and then a year later, God's Son signed to Def Jam Records, where Jay held a position as label president. Though the snippet is only 10 seconds long, it's the first we've seen of the flick so far and leaves a great first impression. What it seems to show is one of the first interactions the title character Pi ([url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/1131649/personmain.jhtml"]Suraj Sharma[/url]) has with the tiger, Richard Parker, when he realizes he is stranded on a boat with the beast. It definitely doesn't seem like that tiny boat is large enough for the two of them. Just what will Pi do when he finds out that there's also a hyena, a zebra and an orangutan on board? There's also a tease of the score used in the movie, which seems like a perfect fit for the surreal story. This is Sharma's [url="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2010/10/26/ang-lee-life-of-pi-suraj-sharma/"]first film role[/url], and it's hard to judge his performance from the one shot of his terrified face. But the effects Lee is using for this movie look fantastic. When a tiger is half of the main cast of the movie, there's some obvious concern that the flick will look corny or not work, but this first look at "Life of Pi" makes it seem like Lee has succeeded at making us a fantastic visual treat.
