  1. A funny story to help your recovery. One of my four housemates is a French guy who works in a call centre for a large computer chip manufacturer. He picks up his English from the worst possible places, such as Little Britain (a TV series which is nothing more than a series of gay jokes). He is about the most camp homophobe you could ever meet. He was watching US Wife Swap on TV and saw a mother complaining that her family was sucking her of all her money. The next day he went to work and had to deal with an awkward customer. There is a place on screen to make comments about incidents that only the call centre staff can see. He wrote, "I'm exhausted, he sucked me dry!" I've just had the pleasure of explaining to him why his cowokers found it so funny!
  2. Not so Cuil! I'll stay with Google for the minute and perhaps check back in 6 months when they have their...errr.... features ... fully worked out.
  3. Make him sit through a pointless three and a half minute video? Or eat him? EDIT: Much closer to the mark, thanks Mr. Boo. However, I have 3 other house mates who would be at risk of slipping on the butter first.
  4. I've just got into a downward spiral with one of my flatmates. I got up in th night for a drink. I went to the kitchen and had it with all the lights off. Just as I was about to leave, I heard him coming towards the kitchen. I did the obvious thing and hid. When I jumped out at him he screamed loudly enough to wake up the whole street. I thought it was a bit of a laugh, but he thought otherwise. Next day, I was quietly watching TV when he sneaked up behind me and blasted an air horn a few inches from my ear. I swore very loudly and lost about ten years of my life. This was clearly out of proportion to my little "boo!" A few days later, he went outside. I called him from a window above and poured water onto him. He revenged that by pouring HOT water onto MY FACE while I was laying on the settee! Anyone with revenge ideas that are painful but wont involve A&E, feel free to respond below!
  5. Haha lmao - that took me a few painful seconds to work out!
  6. Urban Hymns is a difficult album to live up to, but I like what I hear so far.
  7. Well that video has certainly heated things up here a bit! It is clear now, but due to be cloudy later. High of 17oC at 16:00. Not exactly summer - but at least the endless rain has stopped.
  8. Sadly this isn't a one off downpoor. It has been a terrible summer so far. It has been nice enough to sit in the garden once in the last 3 weeks. Even then it was too cold come dinner time to eat outside. I'm going to sit in my car and rev my engine a bit - see if I can't warm things up!
  9. Yep, fun times. Even for a while after BitTorrent came out there were advancements in client. Yet ABC, Mainline, Azureus and finally uTorrent. Same with BT sites - Youceff, torrentz.cx, isoHunt, LokiTorrent, TVTorrents.co.uk, btefnet.com, SuprNova, SuprNova Lite based sites, torrentreactor, sharereactor, torrentspy.. those are just a few off the top of my head. It has now been nearly 5 years and I am still using virtually the same software and sites. 3 years of the combination uTorrent + Mininova + eztv. The only thing to change is the eztv address and the uTorrent version number! I guess things have settle down. With the battle lost against P2P software makers and users, the fight has moved to the ISPs.
  10. Obviously BitTorrent accounts for virtually all of my P2P traffic these days, but I still have KCeasy if I ever need an single track. I load it up about twice a month.
  11. Funny, as much as I look, I can't find this story anywhere...
  12. Film sells Christianity to Kids: Major Protest Planned The Atheist League is calling for a boycott of "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe"; the movie opens December 9. It is based on the first book of a trilogy titled, The Chronicles of Narnia. The author of this children's fantasy is C. S. Lewis, a noted English theist. It is his objective to bash atheism and promote Christianity to kids. "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" is a film version of the book by that name, and it is not being toned down from its Christian message. The second book of the trilogy, Prince Caspian, is more overt in its hatred of atheism than the first book, and the third entry, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, is even more blatant. Because " The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" is based on the least offensive of the seven books, and because it is being further watered down for the big screen, some might wonder why a boycott is warranted. The Atheist League wants atheists to boycott this movie precisely because it knows that the film is bait for the books: unsuspecting parents who take their children to see the movie may be impelled to buy the seven books as a Christmas present. And no parent who wants to bring their children up with facts will want any part of these books. We are launching a major educational campaign designed to alert the public to C. S. Lewis' game plan. To that end, we have prepared a booklet, " The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe: Agenda Unmasked." It contains snippets of what reviewers have said about the film and the books, as well as revealing comments made by C. S. Lewis himself; it also contains a synopsis of the seven books. In short, the booklet is not what we are saying about C. S. Lewis' work—it is what he and others have said about it. C. S. Lewis represents the new face of theism: it is aggressive, dogmatic and unrelenting. It is also fuelled by hate—by a crusading hatred of all theism and atheism, except Christianity. His side is counting on our side to lie down and die. He may have experienced little resistance in England, but it's a different story here. The reason we are starting our protest early is because it takes time to get the word out, and besides, the media love it when we give them something to chew on. The booklet is being mailed to thousands of influential persons, including film critics and atheist leaders. While atheism is the evil force in C. S. Lewis' writings, his real goal is to put a positive face on Christianity, getting children to buy his message. Thus, we expect more than atheists will join our protest. [spoof]
  13. Good question. Given the mass evacuation to the countryside following the RIAA Blitz, I dare not go back and rummage for life in the rubble. I don't think that anyone but Kazaa still supports the Fasttrack network? I'd love Random Nut to come out of hiding and tell us what he is up to these days.
  14. They are always up, down, forwards, backwards, over the Irish sea. They are up now.
  15. Are you telling me there has never been a time after sex/wanking that you have needed a toilet like that?
  16. I hoped to see some flying bottles like received 50 Cent at Reading :(
  17. You shouldn't need signs to know that it is dangerous to jump a fence into the path of an oncoming roller coaster! Two fences! :p
