Change.gov - "It's Your America, Share Your Ideas"
Malicious Intent replied to DudeAsInCool's topic in Beatking Recommends
Now we know why Obama kept saying "change" without ever elaborating - he doesn't know himself :p -
Indeed you didn't - well done America! A what?! Seriously Koop, I know what you are saying. Unfortunately Tony Blair taught me not to get overexcited about messiah representitives.

Leading in Ohio too. The Fox News coverage is interesting. When in comes to calling states for McCain, their aversion to anything liberal quickly diminishes! BBC: 34 to 103 MSNBC: 34 to 103 Fox: 39 to 77

You're right Koop - that vote was a waste of time!

The English barely turn out to vote even without the queues. What is it with everyone queuing half way down the street every four years in America? I'm increasingly getting sucked in by the Obama thing. I'm not looking forward to the moment we all realise he is a politician.

Wassup For The 10/32- 11/2/08 Halloween Weekend?
Malicious Intent replied to DudeAsInCool's topic in Kickin' it
My Halloween party was a flop. My housemates outvoted me on attendance. I really wanted to go as they were trying to raise money for a local charity. I only saw about 5 people outside all night - and you have to wonder how many of them were the organisers! It looks like the rain and the "nobody else is there" attitude took its toll. Or maybe this country isn't ready for celebrating Halloween just yet. We stayed in and drunk copious amounts of alcohol with X-Factor as background noise instead. I'll be watching all the US election stuff leading up to the big day. It certainly looks like Obama has it in the bag, but I doubt the entertainment is over yet. I'm hoping for some desperate below-the-belt campaigning by McCain in these last few days. -
Halloween estate party tonight. It is being held on the green right outside my house, so I don't have much choice but to go. I'd prefer to be out celebrating Guy Fawkes as it involves a lot more fire and explosions, but unfortunately the lamer celebration is easier to insure. Oh well, once we are all drunk, we can perhaps set fire to things anyway.

There has been lots of speculation here that Americans wont vote for a black man in the privacy of a voting booth.

Pop star Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie are to divorce after nearly eight years of marriage, their PR representatives have confirmed. Relations were still cordial and they expected to agree a settlement without going to court, added Madonna's spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg. The statement followed several months of speculation that the couple's relationship was in trouble. In July, the singer's publicist said the marriage did not "need saving". Keep reading...

Wassup For The First Days Of Fall 9/26-28/08 Weekend
Malicious Intent replied to DudeAsInCool's topic in Kickin' it
I hate work. First I get informal counselling for not hitting the target rate. While interviewing me, the investigator could not tell me what the target was or what I achieved, but that didn't stop me being found guilty of it. I had to spend nearly a week appealing it and clearing my name. Then I get dragged into the office at work for a formal investigation into my performance. I have to spend 1.5 hours defending my performance when I was the top performing manager for the week. Today I got an informal warning for not doing the required checks. I was told that everyone had to sign warnings, but if I could prove my innocence, the warning would be torn up. So much for burden of proof. Upon investigation, I found that not only did my manager's own records show that I had done all my checks, they even showed that I had done checks on days I wasn't even at work! Not happy. Still, I'm stuck going in all weekend. :mad3: :mad3: To make things worse, I was applying for the perfect job in another division of the company, but they have unexpectedly put recruitment on hold. -
Is that guy on the front from King of the Hill? I couldn't understand a word he was saying!

Michael Moore's "Slacker Uprising" (full stream for US/Canada)

That is putting it nicely! I'd use the word "shit" somewhere. I normally like his films/documentaries, but he has just phoned this one in. -

An out of work coal miner who is a dirty and drunken Northerner. Although partly victim of his geographical location after heavy industry was outsourced abroad, he was also his own worse enemy by failing to adopt to modern consumerism and trade. Instead, he chose to protest that his business was unprofitable by not turning up to work. He does not like Margaret Thatcher or the words, "the" and "was". Does like the word "right" and pies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doncaster

Good shot James. Where was it taken? It doesn't look like Donny!

OpenOffice 3.0 Release Candidate (All Platforms)
Malicious Intent replied to DudeAsInCool's topic in App Talk
On previous versions that I have tried I thought you could save as MS Office files, but according to the LifeHacker post you point to, you can't on this version. Even so, it doesn't overcome the VBA issue. I very rarely use Excel without macros. -
OpenOffice 3.0 Release Candidate (All Platforms)
Malicious Intent replied to DudeAsInCool's topic in App Talk
I wont be changing from Office 2007. I need to be able to save into .doc and .xls so I can use files on Office 2003 at work. I also use VBA extensively, which is not available in OpenOffice. Although there is a macro equivalent, it would involve learning all the code again - which also wont be portable to work. -

4) When Noel was busted in a bar fight, you said, "When the well runs dry, find new ways to keep your name in the news." 5) When Oasis announced the release of Oasis entire back catalogue, you sarcastically said, "I've never been so excited". So sarcastic, you could hear it over the internet. 6) When it was mentioned that Britain used to rock the world, You said, "Now days they send us Oasis." 7) You posted a story about The Darkness calling Oasis lazy and arrogant.
