  1. Sorry jason, but it looks like spam to me.
  2. Savatage, Megadeth, Dio - 5/3/88 I was supposed to see Armored Saint, Helloween and Grim Reaper, but it cancelled.
  3. LAME. I enjoy STP. I hate VR. I enjoy Slipknot. I hate Stone Sour. Corey should impale himself with #5's mask if he's thinking of taking over the Revolver duties. There is no good person, except perhaps the debut singer of Slash's Snakepit. I enjoy Tool. I enjoy A Perfect Circle.
  4. I tried accessing email and it has been showing login fails. Has this been discontinued? I'm am quite certain my login data is correct.
  5. I am very grateful for Wes's return. I thought he had a lot of energy and I enjoyed all his different personas. He's a highly rated guitarist. Fred can lay down whatever lyrics with whatever tone he'd like to. Some of it has been badass, some a high level of suck. All I know is there were some killer beats on the first 2 albums and it went downhill without Wes afterwards. I shant knock it til I tryeth it.
  6. I have several hunded that are more than 20 years old and don't fall apart. Now the question is whether they work or not.
  7. I don't get it. This was an awesome movie. Much more deserving of success than the likes of Superbad.
  8. I think I could use their comeback. I haven't been liking where Korn's been going. I enjoyed the first 3 albums of LB.
  9. Not that it would take much, but it has the potential to be better than SKOM. Never been big on Anvil. I know they're a bit crazy like Spinal Tap.
  10. BOGOTA (Reuters) – Colombian folk music legend Rafael Escalona, whose songs derived from life in his rural province have inspired modern-day singers, died on Wednesday of heart complications in a Bogota hospital. He was 81. Born in a small village, Escalona rose to become one of Colombia's most famous and prolific troubadours. He entertained presidents and started an annual festival that helped attract a new generation of fans to his "vallenato" style of music. Vallenato, the accordion-and-drum driven coastal music heard everywhere in Colombia from glitzy Bogota bars to shabby public buses, often revolves around the pains of lost love, folk tales and life's struggles. 11. Best Miley news ever. Maybe she'll stop covering and do something original (and good).
  12. For some reason, I had thought he had already passed. I think I knew him best for appearing in the Bandit movies. R.I.P.
  13. Co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons dies at 61 MINNEAPOLIS – Dave Arneson, one of the co-creators of the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy game and a pioneer of role-playing entertainment, died after a two-year battle with cancer, his family said Thursday. He was 61. Arneson's daughter, Malia Weinhagen of Maplewood, said her father died peacefully Tuesday in hospice care in St. Paul. Arneson and Gary Gygax developed Dungeons & Dragons in 1974 using medieval characters and mythical creatures. The game known for its oddly shaped dice became a hit, particularly among teenage boys. It eventually was turned into video games, books and movies. Gygax died in March 2008. Read entire story here.
  14. I share this exact same sentiment. I feel like an idiot every time I show up at the party and the person of the hour is already there. Right now my head is just in the door. Happy Birthday, Potato!
  15. Wow..straight outta left field. Welcome back, Sir Droopy (at least for me). I've been a Savatage fan since the Hall of the Mountain King days. They were part of my first concert (Savatage/Megadeth/Dio) and I went to a later concert with the second singer Zachary. When I retro-collected, I picked up this gem of an album. The song is a great indication of the fame to come. The axe-work of Chris Oliva (R.I.P.) was ahead of its time and very unique to the band's sound. I truly wish Chris was still around as the merry-go-round of guitarists since his death has been mediocre at best (although I was very impressed with Alex Skolnick's part on the Handful of Rain album. Thanks for the memory.
  16. Yes, it's easy to hate a band that has the most basic but badass name on the planet.
  17. Launchcast has advertised the heck out of this band. Kinda spoiled it for me.
  18. No, it should not. As per their MySpace page, they show themselves being classified as "Metal / Rock / Other." This is an official page, which has their copyrighted music and, therefore, their blessing. Metal can be looked upon as a subgenre of Rock by some, but not I. These are just tags, of course, but they had a choice which genre went first, and they chose Metal...as all smart people should. Compared to Veil of Maya or The Human Abstract, they seem pretty lightweight, but this does not remove them from a Metal classification.
  19. Been hearing this a lot on Yahoo Launchcast. Pretty decent, and a severe detour from the Cornell you're used to. Will need to hear more sometime.
  20. lol...good ole Accept. Udo's voice annoyed the shit out of me when I first heard it. I was given Balls to the Wall to borrow sometime around the mid-to-late 80's. Ironically enough, just like Disturbed, I eventually came around to liking them. In time, I acquired the discography up through 1990's live Staying A Life. I had also bought Eat the Heat from '89 with one-time singer David Reece. I thought he did a pretty damn good job and "Generation Clash" is almost as good as "Balls to the Wall." I had the cassette of UDO's first album Animal House, but it got lost in time someplace. Continuing the trend of similarly-sounding vocalists, Mark Storace comes to mind from Krokus. The difference here is I will NEVER enjoy this band. He royally annoys me. The only failsafe from total oblivion for me would be "Screaming in the Night." I happen to like that ballad. Ok, back to Disturbed. They kicked ass at the Rockstar Mayhem fest last July. The new album is pretty damn good. I have to say I like this band more than UDO or Accept overall.
