Line-up: Bonobo (Full Live Band) Jono McCleery Info & tickets: http://www.soundcrashmusic.com/bonobo-live/ Venue: The Troxy 490 Commercial Road London, United Kingdom Soundcrash presents… Bonobo with his full live band in London’s most beautiful Art-Deco venue. After his amazing sold out show at The Roundhouse, we have invited Bonobo and friends to play in East London’s most beautiful venue: The Troxy. As Si Green has taken residence in the good ol’ USA his UK appearances will be few and far in between, so this presents itself as an increasingly rare opportunity to listen and witness Bonobo plying his trade. Still riding high on the success of his album “Black Sands” out now on Ninja Tune, expect nothing but beautiful, perfectionist music fusing forward thinking electronica with the silkiness of jazz and the honesty of folk music. http://www.bonobomusic.com/ Jono McCleery is a London based solo artist, who recently signed to Ninja Tune. He completed his 1st album ‘Darkest Light’ independently in 2008 which was self-produced and funded by his fans, including folk-star Vashti Bunyan and BBC radio DJs Tom Robinson and Fiona Talkington. Rick Pearson, London Evening Standard music critic: “McCleery’s songs echo the hushed magnificence of Nick Drake. Mellifluous melancholy of the highest order.” http://www.jonomccleery.com/ FREE MP3: Get free Bonobo's Eyesdown remix by Warrior One from here: http://www.bonobomusic.com/ YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQCbL7IB5nM See the rest of our events: http://www.soundcrashmusic.com/
 3. Soundcrash is to commission an artist to create an exclusive and unique piece of artwork at each monthly Koko night. The audience will be able to follow the creation of the artwork on site and on the large screen, and then to bid for it on an online auction the week following the event. All proceedings from this auction will go to a registered charity. We are honoured to have the very talented and sought-after Will Barras paint live during the Plaid vs Red Snapper night on November 20th. Will Barras’ work, currently showing at the Stolen Space Gallery in Brick Lane, can be at times dark, at times touching but always exudes a perfectly honed craftsmanship. Will Barras Biography: “Will Barras’ composition and fluid lines provide poignant detail in liquid abstraction. The subject matter is readily familiar, but captured in a manner that seems to jar time and space with psychedelic abstraction. It is his way of expressing the emotional movements of this labour. It is therapy and pleasure and necessity. Though Will is more passionate about Cricket, and even the art of the poached egg than he is of Skate or Snowboarding, he is hailed as one of the visual artists who best represents these influential creative movements. This is not only an indicator of his prolific work rate and good nature, his artwork featuring on all types of boards, clothes and mural campaigns, but more so of his unique voice, technical competency and sense of exploration.” Harlan Levey, Modart Magazine. Will is in high demand both commercially and artistically. He directs for the animation production Company Bermuda Shorts and designs for other commercial projects that excite him. Alongside his commercial work Will rarely takes a rest from painting and exhibiting. Last year he participated in the acclaimed Wooster on Spring exhibition in New York which saw people queuing for over five hours to get in. He has also exhibited as far and wide as Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Brussels, Edinburgh, Mayrhofen, Oslo, Copenhagen, Bratislava, Cologne, Budapest, Warsaw and London. Previous Exhibitions: GSSA, Osaka, 2001 Dream Bags, London, 2001 Hanku, Osaka, 2002 Parko, Tokyo, 2002 Streetwise, Berlin, 2003 Modart, Munich, 2003 Art Impropa, Milan, 2004 Keep Abreast, Biarritz, 2004 Chairfix, Tokyo, 2004 Wordless, Zurich, 2004 Designers Block, Tokyo, 2004 Upper Playground, San Francisco, 2004 Urban Edge, Milan, 2005 Vicinity, Brussells 2005 MORE, Milan 2006 Mind Power, Madrid 2006 Electric Pet, Grenoble 2006 Health and Safety, Portland 007 2nd Hand Smoke, Brussells 2007 Witch Wagon, Philidelphia 2007 Scope Art Fair, Miami 2007 Special Relationship, Scrawl Collective group show 2008
 4. LIVE ART AND CHARITY AUCTION FOR PAINTING BY REMI/ROUGHE DONE AT SOUNDCRASH, KOKO. SIGNED BY DJ KRUSH & PREFUSE 73 (AND ARTIST REMI/ROUGHE) Because having Dj Krush, Prefuse 73, Stuart McCallum, Anchorsong and Stateless playing on the same night just wasn’t enough, Soundcrash commissioned Remi/Roughe to create a piece of artwork live on the night that’s now being auctioned for charity. This work was created whilst being projected on the big screen at Koko in front of 1500 soundcrashers during the Prefuse and Krush sets last week. Photos from the night here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ventphoto/5095334864/ Remi’s work is incredibly valuable regularly selling for over £5k, many peices also being bought by the Design Museum in London and many other museums around the world (check full blog below). So if you add the Krush and Prefuse signatures to this then you have something very special. Who knows, you might bag a bargain and in the process Macmillan Cancer Support takes a wad of money for their cause. South London born and bred (circa 1971) Remi Morgan has been breaking boundaries and messing up heads for the past 24 years. Transcending the traditional and somewhat idealised vision of a graffiti writer, the celebrated artist is passionate and unforgiving in his creative progression. As part of the abstract Ikonoklast Movement of the 90s or his role in supporting the evolution of the UK graffiti art scene throughout the decade prior. Or as a visual consultant for Red Bull and Nike. He is a proud graffiti writer, artist, illustrator, designer, art director, curator, musician and loving partner and father. On the 1st August 2008 Remi/Rough held court at London's Tate Modern. As part of the Tate's Street Art exhibition and series, he was invited to talk on the underground history of UK graffiti in front of a sell-out auditorium. His deep rooted personal gallery relationships date back to the murky days of 1989 when he unveiled his debut art show and has since gone on to see his work exhibited All City, All Global. London to Paris, Perth, Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Berlin, Hamburg, Strasbourg, Edinburgh and Ibiza. And he ain't done yet. http://www.roughe.com/blog/

 7. ESKMO + guests live at Electrowerkz, London (EC1V1NQ) 5th October 2010 tickets: www.soundcrashmusic.com and http://bit.ly/bLC3D2 When we mentioned we were bringing Eskmo to the UK to a fellow music fanatic his answer was as emphatic: “About bloody time!” he said, and for good reason. Brendan Angelides, aka Eskmo, has been producing his idiosyncratic brand of syncopated electronic sound - somewhere between dubstep and hip-hop - for over a decade now. An output which has earned him a considerable following states-side, and the support from Planet Mu and Warp records, but which has largely, and inexplicably, escaped the UK’s attention. This however is bound to change with the release of his eponymous album on Ninja Tune in October. Widely heralded within the community as one of the most original of a new wave of electronica artists Eskmo's tracks encompass a wide range of electronic styles: Bleep.com described his tracks as "Masterfully produced... sophisticated, post-Dilla hip-hop funk" while sites like Boomkat describe his music as "[Putting] Eskmo on his own electronic plateau." But maybe the greatest accolade of all, is Amon Tobin’s appreciation of his sound, an appreciation which culminated in a collaboration between both producers under the moniker Eskamon. His live shows sees Eskmo embracing and exploring glitch, dubstep and R’n’B, and layering his own ethereal vocals into the dreamy mix. It’s a fine cocktail which accounts for everything that has made Eskmo such a whispered-about talent. More info: http://www.soundcrashmusic.com/eskmo/

If you can't make it to Soundwave this year, worry not, for the party continues in London Town! Our all-time favourite funky, forward-thinking, experimental hip-hop collective The Herbaliser make a welcome return to form with their full 10-piece band in anticipation of The Herbaliser's "Herbal Tonic" 'best of' release on Ninja Tune in June 2010. Founded by Ollie Teeba and Jake Wherry during the 90s, the Herbaliser have been responsible for some of the most memorable releases during Ninja Tune's early years. Their unique fusion of Jazz and Hip Hop is best experienced when seen live, and in Koko's beautiful surroundings this promises to be a very special set full of good vibes, lush instrumentation and plenty of colourful sounds! http://www.myspace.com/theherbz Tripped-out beat-makers supreme Anti Pop Consortium join them; one of the most unique and progressive hip-hop outfits in the world they've found the perfect mix of smooth rhymes, group wordplays and psychedelic bass-lines which they use to entertain the crowds at their shows in a distinctly APC manner. Classic tracks such as 'Ping Pong' blend seemlessly in to newer joints like 'Volcano', all tied together with some properly brilliant avant-garde beat jams and accompanied by the ever smiling faces of four blokes LOVING what they do! Its infectious stuff... http://www.myspace.com/antipopny Tickets are available now here: http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user/?region=gb_london&query=detail&event=383629 and via http://www.soundcrashmusic.com/ “As a reaction to the watered-down R&B regurgitation of mainstream hip-hop, APC are an unparalleled, post-modern music force to be reckoned with in any context.” Rolling Stone "Part of an NYC avant rap underground that are pushing the music into brilliant new corners," Entertainment Weekly "It doesn't take a genius to see why Thom Yorke likes them so much; like Radiohead, Anti-pop presents a dysfunctional update of their music, replacing the usual sense of community with one alienation.” NME "APC continues to blow minds and fuck up those neat little categories we music journalists and record stores rely on. Their rhymes are hard, their delivery is tight, and the beats sound like a casio rapmaster and an SP-1200 fucking in the space shuttle. This is some ‘nother other shit.” James Friedman XLR8R "APC are a Brooklyn quartet who can avant the shit out of the garde." LA Weekly “The music is unlike any hip hop you've heard, more joy division than James Brown, with wheezy organ lacing the sci-fi bleeps with an eerie humanism. These rappers are energized by a weird and nameless force." San Francisco Weekly “Anti-Pop Consortium lay waste to any lingering notions that hiphop and radical electronic experiments occupy different camps. The cracking analog jams throw all conventions into disarray. It isn't anticon or mush crews that will unite the two camps; it's these three sonic geniuses.” URB Magazine “A NYC crew the upends mainstream hip hop orthodoxy with avant-garde production flourishes, slinky new wave keyboards, freaky basslines and incisively skewed rapping." Chicago Tribune “Anti-Pop Consortium still deeply entrenched in a hyper-intellectual rap-as-concept-map ethos." CMJ New Music Report

Soundcrash presents: DJ Kentaro AV Set Cargo, 83 Rivington Street, EC2A 3AY, London DJ Kentaro / DJ Cheeba / First Rate 15 July 2010, Doors open: 7.00pm - 1.00am Dj Kentaro is phenomenal. Watching him scratch while listening to what sounds he makes defies one's sense of reality and logic; how can he create these sounds with just a pair of decks? How can his hands move quite so quickly? Then you realise he doesnt even use headphones! Kentaro is a mad dexterous surgeon who slices and dices beats into a breathtaking sonic concoction in his Sendai laboratory and at events all over the world. When Kentaro is behind a set of 1200s and a mixer, things tend to go off. His shy demeanor betrays a true master at work. Following victory as the youngest ever DMC champion in 2002 he has gone on to conquer the world, literally, with appearances on almost every cover of every hip-hop magazine in print, and a string of highly acclaimed LPs and mix-tapes on Ninja Tune. Dj Kentaro is something else. See it to believe it. http://www.myspace.com/djkentaro ++ Watch Kentaro's World DMC 2002 winning routine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJLQG0TAp_s ++ Book your tickets here
