Nick Oliveri Reunited With Queens of the Stone Age on Stage Last Night

A decade after Nick Oliveri was kicked out of Queens of the Stone Age by frontman Josh Homme, he joined the band on stage last night at a show in Portland, as Antiquiet reports. Oliveri sang on "You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire" from 2002's Songs for the Deaf.  Watch a fan-shot video below.

When Oliveri contributed vocals to last year's Like Clockwork, his regrouping with the band was surprising, since Oliveri's original 2004 firing was apparently because Homme discovered that Oliveri had abused his girlfriend.

Oliveri has been dealing with serious legal entanglements in recent years. In 2011, he faced several felonies after a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, which involved his possession of drugs and a firearm. It was intercepted by a S.W.A.T. team. Oliveri was sentenced to 52 weeks of anger management and 200 hours of community service.

Oliveri's band Moistboyz opened the show last night. Homme apparently dedicated 2002's "Better Living Through Chemistry" to Oliveri earlier in the set, according to Antiquet.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
