Twitter #Music Service Ending Next Month

Back in October, it was reported that Twitter's relatively new #music app would be shutting down. Now, it's happening, NME reports. The service's iOS app was removed last night, and it will stop working altogether on April 18.

The company tweeted the news last night:

Later this afternoon, we will be removing Twitter #music from the App Store. If you have the app, it will continue to work until April 18.

The app was a recommendation service meant to show users what was trending and what their contacts were listening to. Though it had initial success, it ultimately fell in download rankings. The app's founder, Kevin Thau, reportedly resigned from the company one week after it launched.
