NEW ORLEANS -- An 8-year-old girl was suspended for nine days for bringing to school what appeared to be about 30 "Jell-O shots" -- though it was unclear whether they contained alcohol.

The incident occurred Nov. 29, as the girl stood after classes outside Geraldine Boudreaux Elementary School in Terrytown, a New Orleans suburb. A teacher spotted liquid dripping out of the student's bookbag and found what looked like the small cups of alcohol-laced gelatin that are sold in bars, schools spokesman Jeff Nowakowski said.

Local school officials in a suburb of Houston, Texas, are investigating how it was possible that a school police officer handed out calendars to students that featured explicit details on satanic and sexual rituals for every day of the month.

Parents in Pearland are demanding answers, according to a news report on KHOU-TV.

The school police officer who handed out the calendars was supposed to deliver a positive anti-gang message to the students last Monday, according to the report.

"September 20th is a 'midnight host' whatever that is," said one unidentified parent reading from the calendar. "You should have a blood-type ritual. September 23rd is the fall equinox – you should have an orgy. Activity group sex, any age, any sex."

TAMPA - Carver Exceptional Center, a school for students with academic and behavioral difficulties, is getting new digs that will cost the Hillsborough County school district $3.6 million.

Its neighbors will be a few adult businesses in the Drew Park neighborhood.

The closest are the XTC Adult Supercenter, 4829 N. Lois Ave., and Lipstixx Nude Cabaret and Adult World, both at 5215 N. Lois Ave.

MaryEllen Elia, the district's chief facilities officer, said school officials looked for eight to nine months for a location but couldn't find one that met all needs. They settled on the Drew Park site partly because the district owns the property, she said.

The school board approved the location in the summer, Elia said.

School Principal Bradford Mueller said he plans to talk to his new neighbors, letting them know students will be around when the school opens in August.

He has told them to call if his students show up at the businesses and he will pick them up.

2 School Aides Accused of Having Sex With Students

Two aides at a Bronx high school had sex with students and made inappropriate sexual comments to another, investigators said yesterday. One of the aides, they said, even introduced one young woman to a pimp who was seeking prostitutes.

The investigators recommended that the aides be fired and forwarded their findings to the Bronx district attorney's office.

In a report, the special commissioner of investigation for the city school system, Richard J. Condon, wrote that one of the aides, Clayton Fitz Coy, 25, had three sexual encounters with a 17-year-old student at Herbert H. Lehman High School. One encounter was inside the school.

Mr. Condon said he found that the second aide, Aaron Stroud, 22, served as a lookout for Mr. Fitz Coy. Mr. Stroud had a sexual relationship with a second female student, the report said, and verbally harassed a third.

The report says the two men acknowledged the sexual encounters, calling them consensual. They could not be reached for comment yesterday, and a telephone call to the union that represents most noninstructional school aides was not returned.
